ZaaBox "Sweet Lavender + Vanilla" October 2018 Review
Enclosed in the box is an info card describing the products and the product ingredients.
Each month the founder Mr. Strong sends a handwritten note, which leaves me blushing.
Anu Essentials-Lavender Natural Cold Press Soap, Full Size! - Retail Value $8.00
This cold pressed bar of soap is lightly scented, and some of the ingredients include, dried lavender flowers, ground oats, lavender essential oil, and shea/cocoa butter. The soap has a nice, rich lather, and the aroma of lavender is faint. The soap made for a refreshing shower, and the lavender awakened and soothed my senses. I didn’t find this particular bar of soap in lavender, but there are other bars of soap in various scents.
Gorgeous Glo Body Care Luxe Whipped Body Butter, 4oz - Estimated Value $9.50 (Buy an 8 oz. jar for $19, currently sold out)
This hydrating body butter came in the scent vanilla cupcake, and the texture was thick. I was expecting the body butter to be fluffy and lightweight in texture; I tend to like my body butters less thick than this one, but it was effective and moisturized my dry winter skin. This brand is a favorite of ZaaBox their gleam body icing was in the July box.
IYOBA Hair and Body Milk, 4oz - Retail Value $14.00
This creamy, gel-like formula was slightly greasy, but not as hydrating as I had hoped. This multi-use product is best for my hair and skin; I opted to try on my skin for this review. After I applied to my skin, I noticed my skin still needed more moisture. It did tackle the dry areas of my skin though, but it could have been more hydrating to my skin. This is another favorite brand of ZaaBox their bath bomb and body butter was in the May box.
From IYOBA:
When applied to the skin, our Hair & Body Milk penetrates the tissue to deliver moisture to dehydrated skin cells, leaving the skin feeling softer and suppler. The conditioning body milk can be used to minimize the appearance of stretch marks and decrease the likelihood of them forming during pregnancy. For the hair, the milk makes for an excellent deep conditioner or sealant for the ends. With regular use, the hydrating formula can help restore strength and pliability to damages tresses, making them less likely to break.
Body B Silk- Lavender Flowers Body Scrub, 4oz – Estimated Value $20.00 (Buy an 8 oz. jar for $40)
This is by far my favorite item in the box. The strong lavender aroma was intoxicating, especially since lavender is my preferred choice of scent. This gently exfoliated and moisturized my skin. The product ingredients from the jar, organic sugar, lavender, olive, grapeseed, sunflower oils, chamomile, essential oils, and vitamin E. There is a slight difference in the ingredients on the website but nothing major. It looks as if they forgot to put the “E” after vitamin on the jar as well as the brand info if a subscriber wanted to purchase. The essentials oils hydrated my skin and the lavender flowers were all over my shower but worth the experience. My skin was soft and had a faint lavender scent on my skin.
Phillip Ashley Chocolates - Estimated Value $10.00 (buy a 12-piece box for $49)
I received a small box with two heart-shaped candies in the flavor lavender vanilla bean dark chocolate. The chocolate was bitter and sweet. It has a dark chocolate cream center with a hint of lavender. The dark chocolate was overpowering the other flavors, the lavender and the vanilla bean, overall not my favorite. The chocolates were handcrafted in small batches using the finest ingredients with fair trade chocolate. I didn’t find this particular set of chocolate on their website, so the value is an estimate.
The Verdict: Another enjoyable box and they continue to pamper me monthly as well as leaving me blushing from the handwritten note from Mr.Strong. This month’s ZaaBox value is higher ($61.50) than previous boxes. This month’s lavender and vanilla theme and scents were a hit. The aroma from opening the box was an indicator of how well I would enjoy the products which I did. The lavender flowers body scrub and lavender cold press soap were my favorites and made my at home spa experience breathtaking. This month’s box has you covered for your bath or shower with creams and lotions to apply after your bathing rituals. It was a pleasure to have a full-size item in the box, even though the majority of the items were 4oz, at least I can get a handful of uses out of most of the items.
