Welcome to our monthly post highlighting our favorite discoveries from subscription boxes! Here are our favorite items from the past month:

Anna's Favorite:

ipsy november ink lipcolor

The Item: Peripera Ink Velvet Lip Tint in #9 Sniper Red, 0.09 oz.

The Cost: Estimated Value $4.34 (Buy a 0.28 oz. version for $13.49)

From: Ipsy

Why I love it: This stain is the perfect holiday color and teensy enough to live in the smallest purse pocket. But the best part of this lip color is that once it's on, it. Does. Not. Budge. I can party all night, nibble on cookies, sip champagne, and not once have to worry about whether my red lips are smudging or fading.

Target Beauty Box Best of Dermstore Holiday 2018 Sunday Riley Good Genes

The Item: Sunday Riley GOOD GENES Lactic Acid Treatment, 0.5 fl oz

The Cost: Estimated Value $52.50

From: Target Beauty Box “Best of Dermstore”

Why I love it: Good Genes has a lot of hype, and honestly, I think it totally lives up to it. This is many women’s holy grail skincare product because it’s one of the best chemical exfoliants on the market. It is gentle enough for all skin types, and my experience has found it to be very effective and quickly shows a change in the appearance of my skin (smoother, brighter, more even, etc). I also really appreciate that the packaging of this .5 oz sample is glass, just like the full-size! It’s really luxurious packaging, especially for a sample in a subscription box!

XIO Jewelry Subscription Review November 2018 - Layered Necklace Front XIO Jewelry Subscription Review November 2018 - Large Crescent Moon Necklace Top

The Item: Large Crescent Moon Necklace

The Cost: Retail Value $70

From: XIO Jewelry (Coupon: Use code MSA5 to save $5 off your first month!)

Why I love it: I can’t stop wearing this glitzy gold necklace! The 2.5-inch moon is quite large, but it is also delicate and sleek at the same time. This versatile charm can dress up an outfit, or you could just wear it with a casual top and jeans. I also love that this piece can be the main focal point of your outfit without being gaudy or costumey.

The Item: Parasilk gLOVE Treatment Gloves

The Cost: $32.95

From: Discover The Deal

Why I love it: I have always had an issue with dry and cracked cuticles, and now that the cold weather is in full-swing my cuticles need even more help. If you have never done a paraffin wax on your hands or feet, you’re missing out- and these gloves enable me to do them at home! Not only is it insanely hydrating and soothing, but it also helps me relax by releasing the tension I carry in my hands. I am so happy these gloves are reusable, and they are going to be a weekly treat for me. I also have a relative with joint issues in their hands due to arthritis, and I think these would be perfect for providing relief to them, too.

Laserbrain November 2018 - Pin Regular

Laserbrain November 2018 - Pin Photo Out

The Item: Strange and Unusual Pin

The Cost: Listed Value $15

From: Laserbrain Patch Co. (Coupon: Use code SUBADDICT to save $2 off your first month!)

Why I love it: Laserbrain Patch Co. kept the spooky train running for November with their excellent “Beetlejuice”-themed box, and the pin it contained was one of the most clever things I’ve seen in ages! I’ve learned a lot about enamel pin collecting this year, and I had no idea how intricate some of them can be. This pin in particular actually has a moving part, giving you a better view of the “photograph” on the bottom, depending on how you manipulate it. I never would have guessed that this could be part of pin engineering! The other thing I love about this piece is that it’s really original, and not something commonly seen on merchandise from this fandom. This is a nod to Lydia’s camera and the scene where she takes photos of the Maitlands as they try (and fail) to haunt her new house, as well as a piece of the quote she says to them shortly after. This piece is fandom at its best: a specific moment from a beloved movie that speaks to the fans that know the film better than anyone.

The Item: Uru.Yarn Sugared Sock in color Amber

The Cost: $24.00

From: KnitCrate Sock Crate (Coupon: Use code MSA20 to save 20% off your first KnitCrate when you sign up here!)

Why I love it: I loved the sparkly fun of this month’s Sock Crate yarn! The holiday season isn’t complete without some glitter, and I just love the warm and cozy socks I knitted with the yarn this month. I thought the color was fantastic and the stitch pattern is unique. Plus, I learned a new technique this month with this pattern!

Ragan's Favorite:

The Item: Vintage Bead Box Film Noir Themed Box (entire box)

The Cost: Subscriptions are $25/month

From: Vintage Bead Box

Why I love it: I often get ideas for making a piece of jewelry, but the end result doesn’t usually match what is in my head when I start out.  This box was an exception – it came out looking exactly like I expected and I’m really happy with it. (I can’t pick just one item because I used at least 6 different items from the box to complete this piece.)

Glossybox Amore Pacific Creme Fluid with box

The Item: AMOREPACIFIC The Essential Creme Fluid, 1.01 fl oz.

The Cost: Buy 3.0 fl oz for $98.00

From: AMOREPACIFIC x GlossyBox

Why I love it: I had heard major hype about this product and as a green tea lover, I was so thrilled to find it in this box. It has the strangest texture! It is super fluid but feels like a heavy cream as you rub it in. The closest description I can give is that it feels like a formula that has sunscreen in it, though this one does not. I personally like it! It also has a slightly sweet matcha smell that I can’t get enough of. It also worked well under my makeup and left my skin feeling great.

Christen's Favorite:

The Item: Freewheelin’ Market Beeswax Wrap Set of 2

The Cost: Buy a set of 3 here for $21.99

From: The Home Detox Deluxe Box (Coupon: Use code MSADETOX10 to save 10% off your first box!)

Why I love it: I love this eco-conscious way of storing food! This brand of beeswax wrap is particularly waxy so it really sticks on your containers, but it doesn't make your hands sticky when you use it.

Shatae's Favorite:

The Item: Well-Read Black Girl: Finding Our Stories, Discovering Ourselves

The Cost: Retail Value $20.00 (found here for $13.52)

From: CandleLit

Why I love It: Well-Read Black Girl contains a curated selection of essays from black women authors sharing powerful stories of how they came to discover themselves in literature. I love this book because it reaffirms my belief that everyone, regardless of race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, disability, national origin, sexual orientation or gender identity/ expression, should have the opportunity to find themselves in literature, to discover a character just like you or a family that’s just like yours. Diversity in literature and representation matters and I especially seek out positive representations of black women in literature and art.

Nich's Favorite:

The Item: Way of Will Moisturizing Body Oil

The Cost: $32.00

From: SinglesSwag (Coupon: Save 20% off your first box with code MSA20)

Why I love it: This body oil in cedarwood and grapefruit is moisturizing and has tackled my dry skin this
season. I love how I can use on my damp skin after a shower, and the oil soaks right into my skin leaving
it soft to the touch. The oil has been a staple product for me this month.

The Item: Let’s Just Be Casual Dress by Annabelle

The Cost: Listed Value $45

From: My Fashion Crate (Coupon: Use code MFCMSA10 to save 10% off your first box!)

Why I love it: This dress is so simple and comfortable! It’s the perfect winter LBD with its subtle flare and longer hemline in the back making it easy to pair with leggings. It’s a simple rayon/spandex blend in black and the flowy shape is so flattering because it doesn’t cling at all like you would expect, which means I can hide all of those extra cookies I’ll be eating! It can be worn for casual occasions or dressed up if I really want to- I’m already getting a lot of wear out of this one!

Becca's Favorite:

The Item: Bully Bundle 12” Bully Sticks

The Cost: $29

From: Bully Bundles Subscription Box (Coupon: Save $5 on your first box with code CRATEJOY)

Why I love it: While I personally didn’t get to enjoy this snack, my fur baby Scout sure did! My pup is a 1-year-old labrador retriever that is an AGGRESSIVE chewer. While he can chew through one of these in about an hour, it seems to get his passion for chewing out of his system, likely saving a few pairs of my son’s shoes! I personally enjoy that they are low-odor so they don’t stink up the house!

Irish Taste Club October 2018 - Salted Butterscotch 1

The Item: The Big Red Kitchen Salted Butterscotch Sauce

The Cost: Retail Value $5.47 (€4.50)

From: Irish Taste Club (Coupon: Save 10% off your first box with code ITC10)

Why I love it: It was almost impossible to choose a favorite from this box, because everything was so incredibly delicious. However, this salted butterscotch sauce reigned supreme. Not too sweet and perfectly rich, it was a complete butterscotch dream, which I could tell was crafted with a lot of love and care. I’ve been spreading it on any and all bread items I can get my hands on.

Jana

I was only able to snag two of those “Best of Dermstore” boxes and would have bought 10 because of the Sunday Riley. I sent two small tubes of the Sunday Riley to my 23 year old daughter who is an aesthetician and she was blown away! I am giving her one of the boxes to her. She asked for the Sunday Riley for Christmas!

Loving this months picks! I want the Salted Butterscotch sauce and that very cool Strange and unusual pin. Oh and the Peripera lip tint too! Ragan and Krista both did beautiful jobs on the jewelry and socks. Wish I had half their talent. Pretty sure my dog would adore those bully sticks. Thanks for letting us know about these awesome products.
