Rocksbox unboxing

Upon subscribing, you'll take a "style survey," so Rocksbox can suggest jewelry pieces that fit your style. You can also browse their catalog and add pieces to your wish list. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your wishlist. I've been leaving my list empty so that Rocksbox can do all the picking for me.

Try on the items in the box, and wear them as long as you'd like. From there, you have two choices. If you love any of the pieces enough to want to keep them, you can put your monthly "Shine Credit" towards your purchase.

Rocksbox instructions

Here's the info booklet that came with my jewelry set. I was hoping to get some of the showier holiday-ready pieces I'd saved to my Rocksbox wishlist in this box, so I'd have some looks to wear on New Year's Eve. Looks like my stylist was on the same page! I can't wait to try the Moonstone drops in particular!

Rocksbox ereturn

My free return shipping label is also at the bottom of the box. Did you know that the outer envelope that Rocksbox ships inside doubles as a return shipping envelope? Be careful as you cut it open—there's a second adhesive strip that can be used to reseal the opened package for your set's return trip! So cool (and green)!

Rocksbox pouch

Each jewelry item comes tucked inside its own protective pouch. Did you know these velvety pouches double as polishing cloths?

Aster Sorrel Drops in Moonstone - Listed Value $70.00, Member Price $59.00

These are EXACTLY the earrings I'd want to wear on New Years! I love the iridescent moonstone centers of these earrings and the gold starburst settings are positively regal. They could add some glitz to a very understated, modern outfit, or complement a vintage-inspired look (maybe with a high-collared lacy dress).

Rocksbox pearl earrings

Perry Street Phoebe Drops in Mother of Pearl - Listed Value $45.00, Member Price $38.00

I'm very into the whole trend of pearlescent finishes that I've been seeing lately. These disc-shaped earrings are incredibly comfortable and lightweight, and they have a cool, modern simplicity to them. They look a bit like moons, don't they? They don't have as much head-turning quality as the starburst earrings, but I like them just the same.

Rocksbox pendant

Rocksbox gem necklace

Rudiment Mystic Pendant - Listed Value $70.00, Member Price $59.00

This necklace is the most traditional design in the set, but I kind of like it. It's so simple, but it has a similar vintage-vibe as the starburst earrings. And I'm a big fan of gold. This necklace could be great for layering with other delicate pendant pieces, or just wearing by itself to give an outfit the tiny bit of sparkle it needs.

The Verdict: I'm so happy with the pieces I got in this set! I like that Rocksbox doesn't just pick things at random—a stylist curates what you get, combining a mix of pieces I picked (and added to my wishlist) and pieces they choose that round out the set. So I always feel like I end up with pieces that look great together and separately, and more importantly, that suit my style. Look out, New Years! I think those shiny star earrings are going to be the inspiration for my whole party look!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer's tastes and what's available at the time. You can, however, give the Rocksbox stylists a nudge by adding your favorite pieces to your wishlist!

Coupon - Use code mysubaddictxoxo to get your first month free!

Value Breakdown: Rocksbox membership costs $21.00 per month. At retail, the three pieces would cost me $185.00. With my Rocksbox discounts and the member pricing (including the buy-all-three-item discount, my $5 worth of Forever Credit that I have on my account, and the $21.00 of Shine Credit (the membership fee for the month, which goes towards your purchases), that price drops to $120.00.

The Aster Sorrell drops are SO unique. I really like them. Like the necklace too. I just don’t see myself “renting” jewelry,I would probably just wind up buying what I really liked.

I’ve been a Rocksbox subscriber for years and at first I also thought the same thing! But I have to say that, while I have purchased items, more often I’m trying styles slightly outside my comfort zone (or budget) or sometimes finding the item I adored online doesn’t work in real life. I tried it first with a free month code – you could always try it out that way and see? Oh, and you’re not limited to one box per month. My first month I think I got 3 because I wanted to really try out a lot of pieces so I could get a feel for the quality, selection, shipping, and pricing. Sorry for adding so much, I’m just a fan and encourage people to give it a shot. 🙂

Their jewelry is really cute but I can’t get past the previously worn earrings thing. Maybe it’s just me. When I worked at a dept. store jewelry counter we weren’t allowed to resell any pierced earrings that were returned. They went back to the manufacturer for a credit.

Supposedly rocksbox sanitizes when they get jewlery back, I think.

Shel

I’m sure they do. Like I said, I’m sure it’s just me being odd.

Bran

Great point. Hopefully people sanitize before wearing!!!
