Root And Roam Home November 2018 - Box

Root & Roam Home

Root & Roam Home is a monthly subscription of home decor items with a rustic/Southern slant. I'm a Southern girl myself, so I took to that idea "like fireflies to a mason jar." (Sorry, that's a quote from their "About" page, and I just couldn't help myself!) In addition to their monthly subscription, they have a shop which sells individual items as well as mini, medium, and large one-time surprise boxes.

This is a review of their monthly subscriptions, which costs $49.99 plus $5.00 shipping a month.

November 2018 Root & Roam Home Review

Root And Roam Home November 2018 - Booklet

Root And Roam Home November 2018 - Booklet 2

These little notes were included in my packet. They contain information about the subscription, including their motto, "We believe you should feel at home, no matter where you roam." Awww, that's nice. They also include information about the items that were included this month and the general theme around which the items were curated.

Root And Roam Home November 2018 - Corbels

Root And Roam Home November 2018 - Corbels 2

Handmade Corbels by Designs by Wagoner - Retail Value $50 (found here for $40)

Wow, look at these corbels! The suggested uses for them are to hang a shelf, to use as bookends, or to dress up a centerpiece. I have an immediate need for bookends, so these will be perfect! They have a really nice weight to them and are about 8.5" tall. I wish I knew what kind of wood this is, but I like the effect of the white chipped paint.

Root And Roam Home November 2018 - Hanger

Root And Roam Home November 2018 - Hanger 2

Root And Roam Home November 2018 - Hanger 3

Hand Lettered Lyric Print by Willow & Co. - Estimated Value $25?

So, of course, the first thing I pulled out of the box was the coat hanger, thinking, hmm, technically this is home decor, but... Haha! Of course, it is only in there to hold up this lovely hand-lettered lyric on sturdy canvas. It's very pretty, and the lettering is just gorgeous. The sentiment is very nice, too. I am not someone who likes a lot of quotes decorating my house, I'm pretty picky about which quotes go where, but I can think of at least a dozen people who would enjoy getting this as a gift. I kind of want to keep the hanger, though! It's really nice! Polished wood and brushed nickel hardware? That's pretty fancy!

Root And Roam Home November 2018 - Napkins

Root And Roam Home November 2018 - Napkins 2

Cocktail Napkins by Zestt - Retail Value $28

Organic cotton cloth cocktail napkins are such a luxury! I think the silver and white stripes are indeed seasonally appropriate, but neutral enough to be used any time of year. I suddenly feel the urge to invite up to three other people over for cocktails!

Root And Roam Home November 2018 - Feathers

Paper Feathers, set of 4

These little feathers are listed on the info card as a separate item. They are just paper, but they sure are pretty! I am definitely going to integrate them into at least one holiday gift wrapping.

The Verdict: This was my first package from Root & Roam Home, and I have to say, the items they included were very nice! I am also impressed by the $78 value of the two items I can find online. I will definitely use everything I received except perhaps the wall hanging, but as I said, it will make a lovely gift for someone. I think if you share a similar aesthetic when it comes to home goods, you would really enjoy Root & Roam Home.

To Wrap Up:

If I order today, can I still get this box? You will receive the December box. From the Root & Roam home website:

The last day to order a box is the last day of every month unless sold out prior to that date. If you order on the first of the month or after, it will be for the following month.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $49.99 + $5.00 shipping, which means that each of the 3 items in the box (not including the feathers) has an average cost of $18.33.

I would have been very unhappy to have received these items for $55. Those “bookends” are not worth $50 (or even $40) and a pants hanger?

Agreed. Plus $28 for cocktail napkins? I would not pay that for full sized napkins if I only got 4. Ridiculously over priced sub.
