Rose War Panty Power December 2018 Review
Here is December’s welcome card. This month the box arrived on the exact day I started my period - talk about timing!
Cotton Tampons, 12 ct
I received 12 organic cotton tampons and two panty liners. I like that there is a variance in absorbency, but I do wish more pads were included. The real treat for me this month was that the tampons came with plastic applicators- they were SO much more comfortable to use. Also, I really just get a kick out of receiving tampons tied up with a pretty bow.
Chicago Comb Co Model No. 6 – Retail Value $16.99
I am no comb expert, but I *think* that the comb I received is the comb I linked to. At first, I thought it was just a regular plastic comb, and I was less than impressed. After some research, I saw that, even though this is incredibly lightweight, it is actually made of carbon fiber. My hair has broken many a comb and hairbrush throughout my young life, so I am always up for heavy-duty tools. Even though this has both fine and wide teeth, the wide part still isn't very wide compared to the combs I usually use. I can't use this until after I have gone through my wet hair with a wet brush, but after that, I love feeling every strand slide through. Fancy comb, you're growing on me!
Handmade Strawberry Hair Tie – Listed Value $7.99
I am sure whoever made this hair tie worked with dignity, but I just can’t wear a strawberry on my head. Luckily, Duchess has a fascination with hair ties, and this strawberry made it even more intriguing to her.
Cougar Beauty Fibre Lash Mascara, Full-Size! Retail Value $25.42 (£19.99), Listed Value $22
I have never jumped on the fiber lashes train because a) when I want dramatic eyelashes I usually am wearing my contacts and b) I have sensitive eyes. This mascara company is UK-based, and while it does what it says (lengthens and adds volume), I am not a fan because I got scared I was losing my real lashes when I was removing them due to the fibers coming off. Illogical, perhaps, but the truth.
Next up: undies! They were packaged in this drawstring organza bag. Literally, my favorite part of this subscription is getting new undies wrapped up in a pretty bag.
Youmita Underwear Style 28223MQ
Youmita appears pretty often in this subscription box, and while they’re not the most sturdy undies they're definitely some of the prettiest! I love the combination of sheer mesh and lace in this pair, and that the lace is along the hips. These were comfortable and definitely a pair I would want to wear when I was feeling ~fancy~.
Grey Cotton Briefs
When I saw this grey pair with a red bow in the front I thought to myself “oh, these are festive” – and that was before I turned the pair around and saw the writing on the back! These are super cute, the cotton is comfy, and I will be rocking these all through December. My only complaint is that there appears to be a small ink stain near the top by the bow.
Chocolate Santa
This is just your basic milk-chocolate Santa, but it tasted SO good on that first day where I was feeling extra PMS-y. Santa arrived a little broken, but he was still tasty.
Verdict: This was a good box from Rose War Panty Power but I do not think it was great. I think this box could really benefit from using more discernment in the choice of beauty products they send (what is up with that hair tie?), as well as making sure that all undies are free from defects like an ink stain. That being said, I LOVE the convenience of getting organic cotton tampons and underwear sent to me on a monthly basis, and the convenience of that alone makes this box worth it to me. I couldn’t find a value of everything, but the retail value of the beauty products is $50.40 (if you believe the hair tie actually has a value of $7.99…).
