Every first-time subscriber receives a reusable bag, which is meant to hold all your snacks.
Now onto the goodies!
Bubba’s Fine Foods Savory Original Snack Mix, 1.4oz - Buy a 7oz bag here for $7.99
Whoa! I love this mix! This savory snack mix includes banana chips, cashews, and pecans, and it is seasoned with sea salt, turmeric, paprika, garlic, and onion. And a big handful of this just tastes like Thanksgiving stuffing! Amazing! The green bananas they use are low-sugar and don’t taste like banana at all. This was definitely one of my favorite finds from this month’s box!
Dandies Vanilla Mini Marshmallows, 2oz - Buy a 10oz bag for $5.19 (found here for $3.99)
I am always up for marshmallows, one of my favorite snacks. These small ‘mallows have a hint of vanilla and a more firm texture than your average store bought. Dandies are GMO, gluten, and gelatin-free and were a fantastic addition to my hot chocolate!
Blake’s Seed Based Raspberry Snack Bar, 1.23oz - Buy a box of 12 for $26.99
Seed-based bars are new to me, and this raspberry rendition is delicious; I love the sweet, tangy raspberry flavor! This bar is vegan, tree nut-free, soy free, gluten free, milk free and egg free, and it has 4 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber. With 150 calories per bar and 7 grams of sugar, this bar is a total winner for me.
Ona Foods Ona Cookies, 2oz - Buy a case of 12 for $28
I had high hopes for this brownie cookie, but unfortunately, this is more of a health food than a brownie or cookie. I like the rich chocolate taste and the random bits of walnuts here and there, but this snack would not satiate my sweet tooth. With 17 grams of sugar, I wouldn’t repurchase this item for a quick breakfast, either.
Nibmor Original Drinking Chocolate, 1.05oz - Retail Value $1.59 (found here for $1.44)
This packet made a very rich cuppa chocolate! It honestly tasted like a melted cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, and I used up the remaining sample of Dandie’s Marshmallows above for a perfect treat!
Ocho Candy Chocolate Coconut Bar, 1.5oz - Retail Value $2.15
Free of gluten and artificial preservatives, this tiny bar is 200 calories with 16 grams of sugar. The dark chocolate and coconut are rich and full of flavor, and if you love Mounds bars but were looking for an organic, preservative-free alternative, look no further!
Iota Classic Roasted Sunflower Kernels, .75oz - Buy a box of 8 for $11.92
Pink Himalayan salt was used to flavor these lovely little kernels, and even though they just taste like your everyday sunflower seeds, I appreciate the pink salt’s presence and its beneficial mineral content.
Justin’s Dark Chocolate Cashew Butter Cups, 1.4oz - Retail Value $2.49
Justin’s has always been a brand I enjoy sampling, so I was pretty excited to see them in this month’s box. When you bite into these cups, the dark chocolate takes over and you are left with just a hint of cashew and a hint of crunchy salt. I really like this version of a peanut butter cup, but I would have liked to taste a little more cashew butter.
Enlightened Roasted Broad Bean Crisps, 1oz - Buy a 4.5oz bag for $3.59
I love these crisps! I popped a few in my mouth, and I think I embodied the surprise emoji face for a moment. The Sriracha flavor is perfection (perfectly mild with a kick!), and this little pouch is only 100 calories, 7 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber, all of which add up to a perfect, filling snack.
Kodiak Cakes Oatmeal Caramel Cups, 2.12oz - Retail Value $2.19
Fourteen grams of protein is awesome for a tiny cup of oatmeal, and the caramel flavor tasted great. It helped curb my morning sweet tooth, and this oatmeal stuck with me until lunchtime. Kodiak Cakes also makes this a very easy breakfast; you only have to fill it with water until the oatmeal is covered, stir, then microwave for 45 seconds.
Quinn Snacks Classic Sea Salt Pretzels, 1.5oz - Buy a 7oz bag for $5.19 (found here for $4.25)
These pretzel rods are light and airy compared to the sourdough pretzels I typically reach for. I can taste the wholesome whole grain in each rod, and they are salted to perfection. Quinn Snacks pretzels are the only whole grain, non-GMO Project Verified, gluten-free pretzels on the market, which is also pretty impressive.
Artisan Tropic Sea Salt Cassava Strips, 1.75oz - Buy a case of 16 bags for $19.99
I was so excited to try more Cassava chips since I grew so fond of another brand’s popped version sampled in Snacksack a few months back (check out that review here). I wasn’t disappointed, but these strips are pretty different. The taste is there, a little salty and oily, but these are sharp! I chewed carefully and enjoyed the bag, but I am definitely still hooked on the other yuca chips I love so much.
Partner’s Crackers Ancient Grain Crackers
Unfortunately, this snack was missing from this month’s box, but we reached out to customer service and they are including this sample in December’s shipment.
Verdict: SnackSack never disappoints! I love the abundance of sweet snacks this month, but the few savory snacks they included really blew me away. I always look forward to trying snacks from the new, awesome brands SnackSack samples every month, and with each snack, I know I am eating something healthier and more nourishing than most of your everyday snacks found at the grocery store.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you’ll receive the December box. Be sure to sign up by the 18th of the month to get the current month’s box.
Value Breakdown: This box cost me $22.95 + free shipping, which means that each of the 12 items (not including the missing snack) in the box has an average cost of $1.91.
