Succulent Studio December 2018 Box Review

Succulent Studios shipping containers

The plants ship inside a cleverly designed cardboard box, which is intended to hold them safely in place during their journey.

Succulent Studios hay and rubber bands on pot

Each individual plant is packaged in a little puff of hay, which is secured with several rubber bands to hold them in place.

This bitty plant is just under an inch wide. I like its striped and pointed, thick leaves. It's on the smaller side of plants that I've gotten from this subscription, though the plants usually are pretty tiny. That said, they tend to grow pretty well once you get them out of the box and into some sunlight.

Jellybean Plant

This little plant really does look like it has little jellybeans for leaves. They're round and smooth and the bigger ones seem to get to full bean shapes. My only worry with this little inch tall plant is that it apparently needs a good amount of sunlight. Hopefully, I can find some intense rays on the windowsills of my Pittsburgh apartment, but it tends to be on the gray side here... We shall see!

The Verdict: As usual, the plants were awfully small, but the convenience and the cuteness are definitely nice. It's fun to get some new plants each month AND get all the info on how to care for them, too. But I do wish each of these sturdy plants were just a bit bigger out of the box. I've had great luck growing my succulents from this subscription, but sometimes seeing such small plants in the box can feel a bit underwhelming.

I got this same box, and mine were horrible. The plants looked so sick and nearly dead. I would have loved to see mine looking well like these ones.
