This month features items from The Nightmare on Elm St 3 & 4, Hellraiser, Creep Show, and The Hills Run Red.
Included is info on the items from this month’s BAM! Horror box along with a contest for a signed photograph of Robert Englund aka Freddy Krueger!
BAM! has, evidently, gone through some big changes in 2018 and one of them is the box design itself. Their headquarters also moved earlier this year, so I am interested to see if things settle and how the box will improve in 2019!
Yay! I got a 1Up on one of the items in this month’s box! That means I either got an upgrade or a limited edition item in this month’s box!
BAM! Box Exclusive Creepshow Fan Art Pin by Artist Wizard of Barge—Retail Value Unavailable
This month I got a great Creepshow enamel pin! I love this movie series and am excited for the upcoming show based on them! There are three variants and I got the least rare of the three, but I actually prefer this design best of them all! Winning! As always, the back has two pins with the rubber clasps to keep your enamel pin in place. This will look great on a jean jacket or my faux leather biker jacket!
BAM! Box Signing with Rodney Eastman AKA Joey in Nightmare on Elm Street 3 & 4—Retail Value Unavailable
I am a big fan of The Nightmare on Elm Street movies, so I was excited to see this particular signed photo. Last month included a signed photo from Ira Heiden “Will/Wizard Master” from Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and an Elm Street metal street sign replica in my last BAM! Horror box review, so I am seeing a trend here!
BAM! Box Exclusive Hellraiser Fan Art Collection Art Print By Artist Jason Brower—Retail Value Unavailable
Remember how I said I got that One Up that allowed me a rare, limited edition piece in this month’s BAM! Horror box? This is the limited edition print I received; only fifty subscribers got this variation! I am pleased I got the black and white version instead of the colored one. It is funny also that this box included a Hellraiser themed item since I recently met Doug Bradley aka Pinhead. If you get the opportunity to meet him, take it--- he is FAR friendlier and cheerful than Pinhead!
The Hills Run Red “Baby Face Rattle” Prop Replica by Dark Matter Props—Retail Value Unavailable
I have never heard of this film, but from the insert alone I am intrigued by this big baby mask wearing killer that predates the one from Happy Death Day. This replica has holes in it at the base so you can either put it on a chord or chain like the creepy murderous main character or you can display it along with the rest of your awesome BAM! Horror box replicas as well!
Verdict: This month’s BAM! Horror box had some ups and downs. My favorite pieces were the Creepshow pin and this month’s signed 8x10 from Joey of Nightmare on Elm Street 3 & 4. I was a tad underwhelmed by the content included this time around. It seems as though each month the quality of the boxes is less and less from packaging to items featured. There were only four items included compared to the typical five or six collectible pieces. However, when you take into account how much a signed photograph is at a convention, the price for this box is still rather reasonable. I am hoping that 2019 will be BAM! Horror’s year and that they will be far more consistent because when they are on, they are amazing!
