TokiBox November 2018 "A Vegan Friendsgiving" Review
TokiBox includes a card describing the monthly theme. On the reverse is a list of what's included with the retail values. This month's theme is A Vegan Friendsgiving. With this theme, I would have expected more food and/or things to share, but most of this month's items are self-care products as you're about to see!
Oiliving Life Up'n Go Energizing Spray, 1oz — Retail Value $18.99
This energizing spray is infused with rosemary, orange, and grapefruit essential oils which are said to be scientifically proven stimulants for the nervous system, thus making you more alert. I really like the crisp, fresh scent. I could see spraying this on my yoga mat before a challenging practice or just around the room in the morning as a way to start the day.
Oiliving Life Eye Glow eye serum, .33oz — Retail Value $18.99 (found here for $16.99)
I have never tried a rollerball eye treatment, but I've seen them advertised and been intrigued. I must say, I like it! The metal ball feels very cool against my skin which is nice. The blend of essential oils used in this product are said to be anti-inflammatory, stimulating, and clarifying. My eyes are easily irritated, but this serum feels soothing.
Oiliving Life Coupon
If you like the Oiliving Life products included in this month's box, you're in luck because they have included a 20% off coupon for other products! I have been super conscious of the ingredients I'm putting in and on my body, so I love that this company is totally vegan and uses no artificial preservatives, parabens, sulfates, or synthetic preservatives or fragrances.
Midflower Bulgarian Rose Water Mask, 2 masks — Retail Value $5.00 each
I love masks. I'm not always sure I can tell a huge difference with my skin afterward, but I definitely enjoy the few moments of peace they allow me to take. Usually, when I put one on, I'll also put on some relaxing tunes and lie down on my bed while the mask does its thing. This mask, in particular, was really soothing and felt nice.
Addictive Wellness Cacao Elixir Blend, 1 single serving packet — Retail Value $3.49
Last month I had a bit of a rough experience with some cacao nibs, so I was a little nervous when I saw the word "cacao" this month. Still, I'm not one to pass up a delicious mug of cocoa and this looked to be close enough. I'm glad I faced my fear because this elixir blend was delicious! I used a huge mug and mixed the power with equal parts water and cashew milk. The result was a super creamy, not overly sweet, warm treat!
Partake Foods Sweet Potato Millet Gluten Free Cookies, 15 cookies — Retail Value $4.99
I've been vegan for a while now and recently started being more mindful about gluten. I'm not fully gluten-free, but if I can avoid it I do. These yummy cookies are free of the top 8 allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat, milk, soy, fish, shellfish) so it's hard to feel anything but delight while eating them! The ginger really comes through, and they are the perfect level of mild sweetness.
Stainless Steel Straws with cleaning brush, set of 4 — Listed Value $19.95
I am always in favor of foregoing plastic whenever possible. When it comes to straws I generally go without, but there are times when you just need one! Thank goodness stainless steel straws have become so accessible. These ones are very lightweight, so it's unlikely that they'd cause your drink to tip over. I'm really happy this set includes a cleaning brush because ickiness could easily hang out in these tubes.
The Verdict: The products in this month's Tokibox were really nice. I am a little confused by the "Friendsgiving" theme though since there were really only two shareable products. Nonetheless, all of the items will be used and enjoyed! Using a combo of retail values and list prices where retail values weren't available, the contents of this box add up to an estimated total of $76.41. I think this month's box is a decent value for $34.95, including free shipping.
