Christmas Pudding Tea - Buy 1.75 oz. for $13.00
I did not expect to like this tea much at all. Pudding tea? What? I was wrong! It smelled like coming home for Christmas. It is a more complex blend of Oolong, Darjeeling, Puerh tea types, and this trio balances out the festive flavors beautifully and makes what could be a gimmicky tea something totally sophisticated and warming. I enjoyed it alone, but feel free to add your favorite creamer and sweetener to this one. It makes the perfect after feasting treat.
Blood Orange Puerh - Buy 1.75 oz. for $16.00
This kind of tea is my JAM. It is bold, flavorful, and just a little weird. You can smell the dried orange as soon as you open the bag, and it is strong! The tea itself is a really interesting, tangy, and very woody flavor, but that bright orange keeps it drinkable. I would not dream of adding any cream to this one, but it was a different kind of delicious when I added some raw sugar.
Champagne Berry Bliss - Buy 1.75 oz. for $10.00
It is way cute that Amoda sends us a champagne flavored tea right as we enter this new year! This green tea is light and delicate and has soft flavors of berries and rose oil. Be sure not to over brew this one, it will go bitter! Skip the cream and add your favorite sweetener. This was also really tasty iced with honey.
Coastal Cranberry Spice - Buy 1.75 oz. for $13.00
Normally with anything cranberry, I like to add orange. I had none this week, and I was not leaving my house during the holiday madness so I substituted a lemon with this tea. While not as amazing as orange would have been, the lemon really enhanced the bold cranberry flavor of this blend. The dried berries also gave it the prettiest red color! It was tart and felt very festive.
Verdict: Amoda Tea sent some really fine teas this month. There wasn't a single one I didn't enjoy, even though I totally thought the Christmas Pudding one would be a dud. My favorite was the beautiful and weird Blood Orange Puerh, though it was had to pick from the four sent this month. This sub always sends teas that are both tasty and beautiful to look at.
