Order these boxes every month but not for more than $7. Disappointed in pricing for these. I know many men with beards due to the cold weather here so those boxes would have been nice but not for more than $7.

I usually stalk to get the target box asap, but the prices are ridiculous. The value is not there at all.

The boxes themselves are pretty. I would have gotten them for $7.

Agree with the beard complaints. I don’t know any men with beards.

The boxes were on sale last week for $7 but went I went in the store today, they were $14.99. Since they still had the $7 sticker under them, I was able to get ONE for that price. I agree with others and wouldn’t buy this box for $14.99. I’m also wondering why it was priced so high?

They were on sale last week?
I checked on Thursday night and they were $7.00. I went back to double check on Friday night at the same Target and they were $14.99. They raised the price overnight.
When will Target learn that they would sell more of these kinds of boxes at $7.00 than at $14.99? The brands in them aren’t like La Mer or Dior. That’s why they had plenty of those $14.99 holiday boxes left over at Christmas.

I bought the beauty boxes in store at a Target in Brooklyn there were $7 each. I even tried to go online and see if they were available but o couldn’t find them. If they retail at $14.99 way too expensive and I’m glad I got them at the price I did the soaps and locations are FULL FULL size Goni store and see if you can find them at $7

Marquita, what Brooklyn Target store did you get the offer please? Thank you

I bought them in the Atlantic Terminal Brooklyn store like almost 2weeks ago

Aww man, I was hoping for hair products in these boxes. Oh well!

Two questions-

Are these boxes in lieu of their regular monthly box? Are these the boxes for February or will Target release a February box in two weeks?

Is the price really $14.99 per box? I had to go to my local Target last night and they had the boxes out. I scanned the price and it came up to $7.00. It may just have been a fluke at my Target so could if someone sees them at their store, could you scan one and report back?

I was excited until I saw the price and I agree why do all men’s boxes revolve around beards. Would be nice to see other items for the guys. Box prints are pretty. Will wait for a sale as I love the Shea Moisture brand.

I thought this was overpriced and tacky – monetizing Black History Month – if it was for a cause that would make more sense, even then I’m extremely skeptical of the never ending pink parade of breast cancer support items – how much goes to the cause and how much to the manufacturer? That said when it goes on sale, I’ll probably try to nab one. It does seem as if Target is doing something strange with it’s boxes lately.

There’s a page/post on the Target app dedicated to Black History Month with various products and under beauty/hair are the boxes. So it’s not just the Target Beauty Box marketing for Black History Month, there is an entire page dedicated to it. Target needs to keep the boxes to the $7 price point this is ridiculous and I hope it goes on sale soon.

Way to much money ! What a shame the box is so pretty.

I love shea moisture but this is insane .Im usually on my ish when the boxes come out im just seeing this and very dissapointed . The theme is just radical and the prices are highway robbery. I’ll buy separately this is a flop for target big time 😕

Reply ButtonReply

dee

Yea why would you say the theme is radical? That’s an ignorant thing to say

Reply ButtonReply

JennR

I agree the price is steep compared to other Target beauty boxes, but how is the theme “radical”? Black History Month has been a thing for a long while now, so doing a theme highlighting companies founded/run by African Americans is pretty on point.

Elle

So you slap a hefty price tag on it because it’s been marketed as “Black History Month?” As a black woman who regularly purchases the Target beauty boxes, I’m side eyeing the heck out of you Target.

Reply ButtonReply

Tonya

Mhm. It’s atrocious. My best guess would be that they think black women will pay that price because of pride and white women will fork over that much for guilt. Using “Black History Month” for their financial gain. Shame on you Target!

JennR

Agreed.

I’m glad everyone seems to thinks as I do – for the usual $7.00 these are great boxes, but not $15.00! I will also wait for them to go on sale!!! Bad move, Target!

One other thing, tho: Why do mens boxes always seem to revolve around beards? I know two men who have beards. All the rest are clean shaven. With so much beard stuff, I’m not remotely interested in the men’s box.

tpop

I’m not a POC, so I checked with my Black boyfriend, and we both agreed this idea is questionable at best. As he said, why are they monetizing Black History Month? It’s not like they are giving proceeds to a relevant cause or anything. I would say these types of products should be in regular boxes, reflecting their diverse clientele.

Reply ButtonReply

Cat

This. So much. The inflated price is iffy too. I think they should have gone with $10 when they did the slightly more deluxe sample boxes at most. The products should be a wide range already, or regularly have boxes to reflect things like hair type for everyone with variation for whatever one item. I feel put-off by the box names a little too, like pandering to POC using more slangy names? The first in particular. I get it’s Black History month but this should be an all-year inclusive product situation. What’s weird in top of that is that all the products are still also universal anyhow, they didn’t do any more specialty hair products etc even in their pandering. So…just why? Purely to monetize Black History Month for the company and no other purpose. Is there maybe anything on the Target dedicated page for products for the month with a “hey we’re going to donate something for these products as a whole”?

Reply ButtonReply

Megan

Well-said Tpop! Cool boxes but totally lost the point of Black History month, if they donated some of the proceeds from this box, could have been a whole different scenario.

Reply ButtonReply

Jo

Yep. Weird. Like you said, maybe if they were using the proceeds for a good purpose…

Reply ButtonReply

Neandermom

Uh, and why do they cost 2x as much as the regular wippo boxes? NOPE Target, you missed the boat on this one.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz

1000% agree with you!

Reply ButtonReply

J

The thing is they’ve done some great WOC boxes every February without actually calling them that and they were great boxes and were priced in line with their monthly boxes. This is a weird direction for them to be going.

Reply ButtonReply

Bran

The pricing on this is an automatic no.

Reply ButtonReply

Enid

I agree. Too $$$

Reply ButtonReply

xunseenx

i would get the first box and the on with the lip balm, but no frigging way would i get them for $15.00! that’s entirely too much for a target box. i do think the boxes are cute, the products are good, and the idea is great… the price tag is just not talking to me.

Reply ButtonReply

Lily

No way $15!

Reply ButtonReply

Sharon in SE TX

I was ready to order until I saw the price.

Reply ButtonReply

Geena

I liked the idea of them doing them for their normal $7 monthly boxes – no need to make it a special higher price point box!

Reply ButtonReply

Suzanne

Waaaaay too expensive. And they’re all sponsored by SheaMoisture.

Amanda

Holy moly prices no thanks lol
They have boxes targeted towards African Americans most months anyways & those are usually at least $7.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

They don’t seem like very good deals, one is worth $15.80 😂😂😂

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

That was the one I was most interested in, too! I was all set to order it when I thought it was $7, but no way for $15!

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

Ooooh, love the idea and look of these, but will wait for sale prices…

Reply ButtonReply

michelle

Totally agree, love the idea and look, but they seem pricey!
