This box comes with a booklet detailing all the items included:

They also give you background info on all the makers involved with the box:

It's full of inspiring stories, and it's wonderful to see all the ways that CAUSEBOX and subscribers support fair trade, new job opportunities, and other amazing initiatives across the globe. Out of all the subscription boxes I review, this is definitely my favorite booklet - it's such a feel-good read, and it gives so much more depth to every item you are about to unbox!

And now, for the unboxing!

Luna Nectar Jade Roller - Retail Value $25

Jade rollers are everywhere lately, so this inclusion feels very on trend! These are great for facial massage - specifically lymphatic drainage. (Check out Marne + Anna's AMAZING tutorial on jade rollers.)

I love using these when I'm on a phone call. If I'm talking to someone speakerphone, that means I'm also getting a facial massage!

October Jaipur Vegan Leather Everday Envelope Clutch  – Retail Value $60

(Subscribers will receive either this black version or a beige one.)

It's a super simple + chic clutch, with a button closure, a striped fabric lining inside, and one zippered pocket. Here it is in hand to give you a better sense of scale:

This is definitely a wardrobe staple for me - and I really love that the lining gives it a little extra character.

SiiZU Poncho Wrap - Retail Value $115

This poncho wrap is available in 3 colors:

(Subscribers will receive one of these three colors.)

The fabric is super soft and cozy. It's a tight weave, so it gives you warm without adding bulk.

Here's Marne modeling this charcoal one for us:

And here I am wearing the cranberry one as a scarf:

It's a versatile piece!

KLEI Detox Spearmint + Floral Facial Steam - Retail Value $22

This all-natural facial steam is made with Chamomile, Lavender, Rose Petals, Rosemary, Juniper, and Spearmint. It smells lovely to me (I tend to love natural beauty product scents). To use it, you boil water, pour it over a capful of this blend in a bowl, and let it cool for a min or two. Then drape a towel over your head and lean over close to the bowl for a few minutes. It's supposed to help open your pores and hydrate skin. It feels great, but if that's for you, there are other great uses for this blend, too. (I'll be adding some to a muslin bag and throwing it my next bath!)

LSTN The Crescent Bluetooth Earbuds - Retail Value $99.99

These Bluetooth earbuds are super lightweight and easy to use.

They come with a charging USB cable and 3 different size sets of ear tips for the perfect fit. (I found these to be super comfortable.)

They also have a microphone, and play/pause button with volume control.

Now on to sound quality. For music, it's decent/good, but not great. For podcasts, (which is what I'm primarily using it for) it's perfect.

And LSTN uses proceeds from every purchase to give hearing aids across the globe!

Paper Source Handmade Stationery – Retail Value $12

These cards are handmade in India using recycled cotton textiles. (They are also free of processing chemicals - they dry with solar energy!)

And the cards themselves are great, too. The silver and gold dots have a metallic shimmer, and the pattern is on both sides of the card. (The inside is blank.) I actually thought handmade cards would cost more than $2 a card!

Wrapping Paper by Claire Ritchie

Every season CAUSEBOX collaborates with an artist for the box design, and this quarter they extended that design to wrapping paper, too!

The box includes 3 sheets (one in each color).

And lastly, we get a matching postcard:

Verdict: This CAUSEBOX has a value of about $334 - not counting the wrapping paper and postcard designs! As usual, I am so impressed with CAUSEBOX. I love their mission of working with brands + companies that give back, support fair trade, etc., and the box curation is equally amazing. I'm a fan of every item in this box, and I think the value is great for $54.95!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! As of publication, this box is still available. Check this page to see what box they are currently offering.

I purchased a winter welcome box on December 15. I still do not have it. Customer service is terrible. They are quick to take your money though. I cannot get a straight answer when I will get my box , my box is awaiting shipment for 4 days,. By the way, the phone number they list with the BBB is a nonworking number

I am surprised by the negative reviews as my box was full of great smelling things. It came with all the above mentioned items and they all smelled great, no gas or chemical odors. I love the body scrub and although I haven’t used the face steam it smells pretty. The wrap is the perfect weight for travel and Virginia weather. I am looking forward to the Spring box.

I recently purchased a year subscription and the winter welcome box is the first delivery.

The cost of the good work that each participating company is engaged in is built into the msrp of each item.

I personally am looking for items that utilize a clean / ethical supply chain. As apparently all items included support my goal, I can feel good about indulging myself, and not worry that I’m buying items made by undervalued or exploited workers and artists, or without regard for our planet.

I appreciate the good work being done by each company, and I don’t expect that effort to be done without pay. If the $50 set of earbuds directly impacted the lives of the hearing impaired by supply hearing aids, or if the $45 shawl was created using a clean/ethical supply chain, or was at minimum of equal quality, then there would be room for sofa analysis of msrping, but alas, apples to oranges.

I also appreciate the effort that goes into curating and distributing such a lovely selection of items together – I found all the items to be beautiful, uplifting, and useful.

The clutch did smell, but after three days the smell as dissipated. I’m using it as the small purse inside by work tote, for when I don’t want to lug everything with me to lunch or to grab a coffee.

The shawl is heavy and warm – I selected the charcoal version, and I love the greenish cast to the lighter grey stripes.

The headphones are interesting, I haven’t charged them yet but I’m sure I’ll like them too.

The wrapping paper, note cards, and art card are well made – heavy weight and charming.

The jade roller is gorgeous, a new evening ritual I’m quite enjoying, when I remeber.

The Klei steam mix is just gorgeous, I’m considering using it as a stove simmer air scent.

So yes, I recommend this box.

…not to mention the jade roller is about 3 bucks on AliExpress. I’m so jaded (haha!) with the inflated retail prices on some of these boxes. Give your purchasing audience a bit of credit for their MSRP savvy.

Good discount but I only like the poncho. I don’t use clutches, and as an owner of a half dozen bluetooth earbud sets, I can tell you that no way are these worth $99. (Even truly wireless earbuds that come in their own charging case are under $50 these days.) Overinflating value to make people feel good about buying stuff they don’t need is a pet peeve, sorry. I adore the cranberry poncho and would probably get this box if we could choose the color.

Exactly! This is how I feel about a LOT of the lifestyle subscription boxes! Feels like random clearance sale stuff from TJ Maxx or something.. I’ve been considering getting one but honestly they all feel chintzy to me 🙁

I agree!

Look at the clutch in the photos. The font size is clearly dented by something heavy that was lying on top of it. :/ if it looks like this in the photos, I don’t think it would look any better in person. The comments here make me not want to try this box, even with the killer discount we got via email.

I had several issues with this, my first Causebox. The clutch reeked of gasoline smell. The jade face massager broke immediately. The earbuds were a joke. I did like the plaid poncho and the notecards. I emailed and told them what I thought. They asked if I would like replacements. I said yes, but only if the clutch didn’t smell. And no thank you on replacing the earbuds, they were garbage. 3 days later I had a replacement clutch. Still smells, but not nearly as strong. Face massager is not broken. I’ll wait to see what I think about the next box before deciding to continue; I like their story and the thought behind this so will give them the benefit of the doubt for one more try.

The customer service is horrible. My entire box smells so bad. I recieved a hideous and deeply flawed poncho. Customer service was like sorry for your luck. I get several subscription boxes. None have ever been this bad.

My clutch from this bag smells so terribly of gasoline and we can’t get it to go away. Have tried every trick and it stills smells.

Mine as well. It’s pretty nasty; makes the bag unusable.

Shouldn’t the extra bundle have included a planner or something like it?

That was a different promo…I don’t think that one was around except for one day or so.
