Faithbox Embrace Your Journey Everyday Faith 2019 Planner – Estimated Value $20.00
This hardbound 2019 planner serves as a complement to my Faithbox subscription. There’s a monthly overview with space to put the Faithbox monthly theme in the upper left-hand corner, a weekly overview to jot down my weekly appointments and each week there’s a page for a different agenda, “This Month’s Goals”, “I’m Praying For”, “Reflection Space”, “Monthly Review”, a page dedicated to a quote January’s quote, “All things work together for good to them that love God”, and a spiritual inventory page. The back of the planner has a section for notes and there’s a pocket on the back of the planner. As you can see from the photos above this planner has me set to prepare for the New Year.
Your New Money Mindset Create A Healthy Relationship With Money by Brad Hewitt – Retail Value $15.99 (found here for $10.84)
This book was co-written by the CEO of Thrivent Financial, a Fortune 500 company that is also a membership organization of Christians. “The organization is more than a hundred years old and serves over two million members”. The book tackles my relationship with money and how I view. There are accompanying study questions for each chapter for further discussion. The website has chapter one to read and a free online assessment. The first chapter was an easy read and had interesting stories relating to money. A few quotes that stood out to me, “Our money relationship is our everyday attitudes and actions towards money.” “Consumerism is our desire to acquire more for ourselves when we already have enough.” “We live with a persistent misbelief that if we just had a little more, we would be happy forever.”
From New Money Mindset:
“Have you ever thought: If I just had a little more money I would be happy? Research has shown this belief to be false*. Through personal experience, Biblical passages and timely research, coauthors Brad Hewitt, CEO of Thrivent Financial, and Dr. Jim Moline, consulting psychologist, reveal that financial happiness and security have little to do with how much money you have, and a lot to do with the role money plays in your life.
Your New Money Mindset isn't just another book about managing finances. It’s a book about reshaping your relationship with money by examining your attitudes and beliefs around money.
Your New Money Mindset:
- Defies the consumerism that infects our culture and sickens our hearts.
- Shows us how to replace the tension and fear we feel about money with contentment and peace.
- Guides us to live open-heartedly with our time, energy and money.
- Provides an online New Money Mindset Assessment™, which will help you pinpoint what attitudes about money you could work on in order to develop an openhearted attitude to life.
Regardless of your financial situation, we invite you to journey with us to discover how to transform your relationship with money by remaking your heart.
Le Pen Set of Three – Total Retail Value $5.67 ($1.89 each)
Their most popular pen and I received three with black, blue, and red ink. These pens have a smooth writing micro-fine plastic point and a lustrous barrel design. The ink is acid-free and non-toxic. These pens are meant to be used with the 2019 planner/journal that was enclosed in this month’s box.
Handmade Leather Money Holder – Estimated Value $15.00
This small money holder is vegetable-tanned leather that’s sourced from naturally dead animals and has “Faithbox” inscribed on the front bottom right of the holder. This is small enough to throw in my pocket or add to my compartments in my wallet.
Spiritual Inventory
A Faithbox exclusive, a spiritual inventory for a month. The spiritual inventory has two sides, on one side of the card it has, “my verse for the month,” “spiritual practice,” and a numerical chart to circle each day that I did something for my focus for the month. And on the back of the card “pay it forward,” “list three ways God has blessed me this month,” and “where am I on my spiritual journey.”
EveryDay Faith
Each month I receive Everyday Faith, and this month is all about “Money”. The booklet is a monthly devotional with scriptures and quotes to guide me through the month, spiritually.
Here’s the introduction to Everyday Faith on the theme, “Money”.
The Verdict: The January Faithbox has an estimated value of $56.66, not including the spiritual inventory and everyday faith. This value is good for the $30 a month box ($25 plus $5 shipping) but low compared to previous boxes. This month’s box is an ideal box to start the New Year. I have a planner/journal to guide me through the year, a thought-provoking, engaging book to steer me in the right direction emotionally and mentally in regards to money and the pens and money holder to keep me organized and on track. This month’s box was practical, useful, and will allow me to start the year off with journaling and tackling the emotional/heart issue I have with money. This box is encouraging, leads me spiritually to think, question, and ponder. I love starting off fresh with a new planner and journal and this will keep me busy throughout the year.
