Each box from GlobeIn contains a booklet that explains the boxes theme and goes into great detail regarding the artisans who made each item. For me, the main draw of this sub is the special handmade items from all over the world, so I truly appreciate this info!

Teacup and Saucer, Morocco- Retail Value $15.00

This beautiful teacup and saucer combo was made by a studio called Pottery Serghini. This family business has been making pottery since 1830! Wow! These pieces are completely handmade and hand painted. I love that you can see how the pattern was created by a real person. I personally love a human touch over a machine's any day. While I usually enjoy a larger teacup, there is something so special about this set and it is well worth a refill to enjoy it in your hands.

Hand Stamped Tea Towel, India - Retail Value $15 (found here for $11.25)

This towel is stamped with such a delicate and pretty botanical illustration. I love how minimal it is and actually can't bear the thought of getting it dirty, so it lives on the handle of my oven, just for beauty's sake. This piece comes to us via a company called Piece & Co, which employs talented women weavers and artisans in order to help them earn a living wage and make sure that the art of hand weaving is kept alive. In Karur, India, this practice has been a huge part of the culture for generations.

Rosewood Tea Box, India - Listed Value $20.00

This stunning teabox was my favorite item. The wood is beautifully grained and the finish is smooth and lustrous. I love the hand carved lid! As a tea addict, I have actually wanted a tea box for quite some time! This box is the first I have seen that I feel fits into my kitchen decor and is also worthy enough for my treasured teas. This piece comes to us via Matr Boomie, an organization that encourages the continuation of the traditional wood carving arts in north central India, while making sure their employed artisans have safe working spaces and earn a fair and livable wage.

Numi Organic Jasmine Green Tea, China - Retail Value $7.49 (found here for $5.99)

I already know and love the Numi brand and this is one of my favorite teas they offer. It is a bright and bold green tea with the potent scent of Jasmine flowers. The scent of the Jasmine blossoms takes me away to warmer days and sunshine. As with any green tea, be careful not to over brew, as they go bitter! I adore it with a little raw sugar and almond milk. I have also tried this one iced and sweetened with honey in the summer. This tea itself is actually really special because the leaves came from the first organic and first fair trade certified tea farm in China. If you want to learn more about this farm, they have a really interesting and informative video that explains how this tea has helped workers live better lives through fair wages, working conditions, and education.

The Verdict: I really adore this GlobeIn box. Everything felt so handmade and special. I loved reading more about the companies and artisans behind each product. It always feels nice to buy products that directly support people who are creating things in ways that their families have been doing for generations. I think this sub is perfect for someone like myself who appreciates obviously handmade products and values the time-honored traditions in which they are made. The product value totals $57.99, which just about meets the retail price and is a little higher than the $45.00 add-on price.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

This is actually an “old” theme….but still available to choose! After getting one wooden tea box when I originally got this theme awhile back I bought another from the shop to store my tea at work in style too and then bought a third as an add on a few months ago for a Christmas gift. I love them! The new theme this month is Brew…can’t wait to try the ceramic pour over set.

The tea box is one of my favorite items so far this month.I love the themes this sub chooses. I am reviewing the Brew one tonight so it should hit the site within the next few days!

This box is really nice. I might have to buy that wooden box individually! It’s calling my name. I also really like the cup and saucer, but I don’t really need a tea towel and my favorite jasmine tea are the tea pearls and the $60 is above my budget at the moment. Thanks for reviewing!

As per the globein website, The monthly subscription rate for boxes is $40 NOT $60! The $60 is for non-subscribers. (you can subscribe for a month then cancel)

Thanks for the heads up Beth! We priced this one at $60 because it was selected as a one-of box, which does carry the $60 price for non-members. 🙂

Thanks for reading! The tea box is a dream. You will love it!

Jennifer

This is the box I chose last month! 🙂 I really wanted the pretty tea box, and I collect tea cups. Unfortunately, the Ais Safi tea cup itself that I got is pretty terrible. I’m not sure if something went wrong with the glazing or firing or what, but there are a number of issues: Bubbled up clay in the inside, imparted ‘clay’ flavor to whatever tea I am drinking, and the saucer and cup turn grey where they get wet as if the water was somehow leaking through. The glaze on mine is all crackled, which is pretty normal for items like this, but I’m thinking it must not be watertight given the color change and clay flavor.

That absolutely sounds like something I would reach out to the GlobeIn tea about Jennifer. I am sure they could help you out! I hope you enjoyed the rest of this awesome box.
