Good Being January 2019 Review
Every box comes with cards detailing each product.
Moving right along to the items!
Bellapierre Twistup Brow Pencil in Chestnut, FULL SIZE - Retail Value $20
Brow pencils are some of my favorite products to receive in beauty boxes, and this one blends in perfectly with my microbladed eyebrows. I had to press really hard to get any color payoff; I don’t know if I got a pencil that was a little dried up, but it was pretty uncomfortable applying this with the amount of pressure needed. Beeswax helps the color stay put while looking quite natural, but I think this will find its home in my car for emergency brow situations.
Andalou CannaCell D.Puff Eye Cream, FULL SIZE - Retail Value $19.99
Hemp is making its appearance in everything from skincare to supplements, and I am very intrigued! CannaCell hemp stem cells and organic hemp seed oil in this cream are supposed to plump, brighten and smooth when you apply this after cleansing in the morning and at night. This eye cream has made a good impression so far; it is gentle under my eyes with no sign of irritation, my undereye is sufficiently hydrated and makeup blends over this treatment seamlessly. With eye creams, I feel you need to use them for a few weeks to notice any true difference, but I really like what I am seeing.
Lauren B Beauty Nail Enamel in Hollywood Royalty, FULL SIZE - Value $18
Lauren B is a brand I’ve grown familiar with thanks to Ipsy, and I chose this inky purple because I love dramatic nail color in the winter when my nails tend to be shorter. In past experiences, their cream formula was top notch (and of course cruelty and formaldehyde free), but this metallic polish didn’t last one evening without chipping. I really like the color, but I would definitely recommend using a base/topcoat if you want your mani or pedi to last.
Entyze Green Tea Mojito Mask, FULL SIZE - Retail Value $24.99
Entyze’s brilliant green face mask is a fun way to treat your complexion to a concentrated blend of antioxidants and other clarifying properties that restore radiance and renew your skin. Just add enough water (or any other liquid of your choosing) to about ½ tb - 1tb of the mask powder and apply! I so wanted to partake in trying this luxe clay mask out, but I just couldn’t get over the potent floral scent.
MegaFood Gummy C Defense Tangy Citrus, 2 gummies - Buy 90 for $22.59 (found here for $17.62)
I received two Vitamin C gummies as a bonus this month, and although they tasted rather bitter (one step up from an orange peel), I can always appreciate when a gummy vitamin has low sugar content.
Verdict: This month’s Good Being wasn’t an exact fit for me this month, but the value is pretty incredible. I got four full sized items for $24.95, and even though I didn’t love each item, I am still excited about the eye cream, and I’ll definitely use the nail color again (but this time with a topcoat!). If anyone is looking for a natural beauty/skincare box, I would definitely recommend Good Being. Not only can you choose 2 out of 4 or 5 products sent to you, but they sample products from exceptional brands and a lot of times the items are full sized!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the February box.
Value Breakdown: Not including the gummies, this box has a value of $82.98, which I think is amazing for a $24.95 (+free shipping) box; here’s what you are paying approximately per item:
- Bellapierre Brow Pencil: $6
- Andalou CannaCell D.Puff: $6
- Lauren B Nail Enamel: $5.41
- Entyze Mask Green Tea Mojito Mask: $7.51
