Kira Kira Crate “Soothing the Spirit” Review
This box always comes with a booklet that describes all the items and how to use them, which is great because the majority of the packaging is written in Japanese! They also feature customer photos that use the hashtag #kirakiracrate to share on social media and include a great how-to on using the items in the box. The theme this month is “Soothing the Spirit,” which sounds so nice, doesn’t it? Let’s see what the items have in store for us!
Kabuki Sheet Mask
I’ve had a lot of experience with sheet masks, and I have to say, this is one of the cutest ones I’ve seen. The mask is meant to imitate the elaborate kabuki makeup, and it’s really cute. Otherwise, I didn’t notice a ton of difference in my skin after using; it seemed a little less red but that’s all.
Hanamaru Eye Cream
I’ve been on the hunt for a new eye cream in the last month or so, and while I’m more about, ahem, anti-aging concerns, I’m not mad about this depuffing, cooling eye cream that smells a tiny bit like butter. This was immediately absorbed by my skin and didn’t feel sticky or greasy in the slightest, and I experienced the cooling effect that was described in the pamphlet. I’m going to add this to my routine and see if it’s a good fit for me long-term.
Acne Medicated Face Foam
I don’t have a lot of experience with acne-specific products, but right off the bat, I was super-impressed with how good this smelled! It has a really clean flowery smell, and it’s really nice and thick! I liked how “foamy” it got, just as advertised! I can’t speak to its effectiveness against acne since this is something that’ll be better gauged over time, but I thought the lather rinsed away cleanly, and it felt like my face was really getting clean when I used it.
Konjac Exfoliator
I love items that can come in a variety of different types, like this heart-shaped sponge. Meant to be used with the acne wash, the exfoliator I received was green and infused with soothing green tea, which smelled awesome. This felt a little too rough for my face but was perfect for my upper arms, which usually get pretty rough in the winter.
Acne Bath Salts
As some of you may have seen me mention, I am a bath bomb fiend, and I love baths whenever I can get one. That being said, I really find bath salts to be a nice change of pace from bombs every once in a while. They’re so clean and have a ton of great skin benefits like this one does, including soothing and moisturizing. I liked the mix of mineral and herb smell of these, too - it was on the subtler side, but was quite pleasant. The package says it can be used as an exfoliator with a little water, but for me, a bath is always the way to go!
Verdict: This was another great month for Kira Kira Crate! There were a lot of specific products that addressed special skincare concerns; since I’m lucky enough to have pretty good skin, I didn’t necessarily have the symptoms that these products are meant to alleviate. However, I enjoyed using the products a lot and it got me in the mindset of putting them into my routine. The eye cream was a good pick, I really liked the face wash, and I always love bath salts! As always, I really look forward to this box every month because it gives me so many good ideas.
