Lavish Bath Box January 2019 “Winter Wonderland” Review
Here is the information card that highlights each product that can be found in the box along with some coupon codes for the brands included.
Bath Candy Shop Snow Day Bath Bomb – Estimated Value $8
This moisturizing bath bomb is scented with grapefruit, neroli, and rose, and it was a very balanced mix of floral and citrus. My bath bomb actually crumbled when I took it out of the protective film, but it resulted in some incredibly foamy blue and white bath art that I adored.
Nectar Fresh Body Baby, It’s Cold Outside Scrub – Retail Value $14
I have tried many a body scrub, and this is one of my favorites. Not only does it exfoliate without being abrasive, but it also foams up as you use it! The scent is a blend of "cold air, ozone, and fresh mint," and I love the light, minty scent. This comes with an adorable baby snowflake soap on top of the scrub, and even the soap was a delight- it was the perfect size to hold in my hand without dropping it. Plus, look at that gorgeous light blue sparkle!
Marvelous Soap Winter Candy Bubble Bar – Estimated Value $7.25
This bubble bar is absolutely fantastic- it crumbled easily, turned my bath a light blue, and created a fluffy mound of bubbles with less than half of one bubble bar! The scent is a blend of crispy candied apple, and I am excited to be able to have more bubble baths with this.
Rinse Bath & Body Co Euca Mint Body Bliss Oil, 4 oz – Retail Value $11
Eucalyptus mint is one of my all-time favorite scents, so this body oil is my jam. It is made with the incredibly hydrating Squalane, along with grapeseed and apricot kernel oils. This didn’t leave me greasy, but it did leave my skin hydrated and soft. I do wish that the mist on the spray was finer, but the fresh scent of eucalyptus and mint was delightful.
Baitx Made Cozy Winter Night Soy Candle, 4 oz – Retail Value $8
I always get excited when my bath boxes include candles- they really help to set a relaxing mood! This candle has a scent blend of pine needles, cinnamon, and smoky orange, and though I don't have a fireplace in my apartment it makes me want to curl up next to a warm fire with fluffy socks and a good book. The candle is made from American-grown soybeans and the wick is cotton-based and free of lead and zinc.
Pop! Natural Snowflake Shower Steamers x 2
I love shower steamers- they are such an underutilized treat that can make showers feel a lot more luxurious. This is made with a blend of menthol and eucalyptus, so this is great for clearing out stuffy noses and helping you breathe easier while your entire shower smells like you’re at a spa. Since I don’t take very long showers, I was actually able to stretch my first shower steamer through two showers!
The Verdict: Lavish Bath Box continues to be one of the best-curated bath subscription boxes out there, and I cannot recommend it enough if you love bath products! I felt like every item included encompassed the winter wonderland theme perfectly, and I enjoyed the peppermint and eucalyptus scents that were present throughout the box. While the retail value is never crazy (this month I calculated an estimated value of $48.25 for everything except the shower steamers), the exclusive products and stellar curation always add extra value that makes this box a real treat to open and enjoy. Another aspect I really enjoy is being exposed to the different indie bath companies- now instead of stocking up for the year during the annual BOGO sale at Lush, I get fun, fresh bath products every month.
