Loot Crate DX Cursed October 2018 - Box Front

Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for geeks and gamers. Each month they include themed collectibles and shirts – they’ve moved towards a mostly exclusive model – so you can’t get most of these items/variants anywhere else.

October's theme was Cursed.

Please Note: This arrived almost two months late (we received this right around mid-December).

Dark Souls Pin - Value $5?

Each month starts with an enamel pin. The October box pays homage to the Dark Souls franchise.

IT Raglan T-Shirt - Value $20-25?

As a fan of Stephen King and IT, I was excited to see what Loot Crate had in store for the IT-specific item. That item is a Pennywise raglan shirt - and I'm definitely a fan of the print and shirt style.

Mummy Scarf - Value $10?

This could have been pretty good for a Halloween costume had it arrived on time. This scarf mimics that classic mummy wrap look - and it's pretty warm, so it does its job quite well.

Edward Scissorhands Figure - Value $20-25?

Like most boxes, my favorite item is the vinyl figure - and this is one I never thought I'd see - Edward Scissorhands.

It kind of captures the whole movie in one little figure - the sad look on his face and that classic stance with his scissor hands - and, of course, the animal shrubbery.

Evil Dead 2 Keychain - Value $15?

A very very close second place favorite of mine was this keycap/keychain combo featuring Evil Dead 2. It features Ash's two favorite weapons - the shotgun and the chainsaw, with your key sliding in as the chainsaw blade.

Verdict: I can't really recommend a lot of Loot Crate lines right now - because they're still having massive shipment issues for the past year now. This one arrived 2 months late and their Firefly line is multiple boxes behind. While some lines have seemed to have been getting better (the core crate comes to mind) - I'm still pretty worried about them adding new lines and what that might mean for the crates that are already having issues. When looking at just the items, I do like this month's box - specifically the keychain, shirt, and vinyl figure - so that part was a win after waiting 2 months.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No – you can find the current month available at the top of their homepage.

Lydia

Why does Msa still review these boxes and promote and advertise them and their sales?

Eric states specifically that he doesn’t recommend any of the LootCrate boxes at the moment. I think these reviews are super helpful for people who are thinking about joining, so they can see what a mess the company is. And if you feel like you wanna take that risk, might as well save some money so you’re not TOO angry that your box came months late lol
