Spongellé Pedi-Buffer With Built-In Cleanser – Retail Value $16.00
This pedi-buffer is infused with peppermint, sea kelp, and fragrance. The top fragrant notes are spicy, fruity, and green, the middle notes are rose and powdery, and the bottom notes are aquatic, woody, and musk. How do they come up with these notes? I didn’t detect any of those notes mentioned. The ped-buffer was lightly scented. I have received this product in a subscription box before and I enjoyed the benefits of the pedi-buffer. I wet the buffer and gently scrubbed my feet, the textured side is a gentle exfoliant and the other side of the buffer is smooth, it keeps my feet soft.

Pūrlisse 6-Piece Blue Lotus + White Tea Treatment Sheet Mask – Retail Value $36.00
I received a set of 6 natural fiber sheet masks intended to fight free radicals, improve my skin’s texture, brighten, and help firm my skin. I have used Pūrlisse skin care line in the past and I was pleased with the results. I opted for a late mask night, the sheet mask felt cool on my face, stayed in place as I moved around, and my skin felt somewhat tight against the natural fiber sheet mask. I left the mask on for about 15 minutes and the only noticeable difference was my face looked brighter.

Nico New York Silver Bar Necklace – Listed Value $64 (found here for $25.00)
The designer website for this necklace is no longer available from my searches and I found this site and it was also for sell on Poshmark. I’m curious as to where SinglesSwag sourced the necklaces from since their website is down. The necklace has an 18” chain and 2” extender. The necklace is silver with a singular bar hanging from the chain. I tend to wear more silver pieces and this particular style will be good for layering with other necklaces. Socado Italian Milk Chocolate – Listed Value $5.00
This bar of milk chocolate is creamy, sweet, and melts in my mouth. I tend to favor milk chocolate over dark and this satisfies my chocolate craving. Socado is based in Italy since the ’70s is a confectionary food company that produces confectionary and chocolate.
Headbands Of Hope Black Confetti Beanie – Retail Value $32.85
This black colored speckled stretchy beanie is comfortable and fits over my head and protective hairstyle. The beanie is stretchy and it can be pulled down or scrunch up depending on how I want to style, and the colors are versatile to pull off with any outfit I wear. A headband is given to a child with cancer from purchases from Headbands of Hope, including subscribers purchases from this month’s box. Real Her Matte Liquid Lipstick – Retail Value $18.00
This is a familiar brand and I love the origin behind the company. I have received numerous matte lipsticks from subscription boxes, my first introduction and I’m now a fan. This paraben and cruelty-free matte liquid lipstick is lightweight, ultra-matte, long-wearing and intended to be smear-resistant. The matte color lasted throughout the day of eating and drinking an iced coffee. The lipstick wasn’t drying and I didn’t feel the need to apply gloss. Also, “20% of Real Her gross profits go to AAUW a non-profit organization.
Each of their products is inscribed with an empowering quote to remind me that I’m fearless and powerful. I received the quote, “I AM THE STORM” stenciled on one side. The other side of the lipstick is stenciled “REAL HER.”
Here’s the swatch of matte liquid lipstick in “Ladylove Matte”, “I am the Storm” which is a dark brown with some red undertones, in my opinion.
Zoë Ayla Classy RoseGold Eyelash Curler – Listed Value $40.00
A standard eyelash curler in rose gold with rubber pad and ergonomically designed to fit perfectly in my hands. I haven’t used an eyelash curler in years, not sure why I don’t use them. I guess one extra step I would have to take in my minimalist beauty routine. I have heard that if you heat your eyelash curler with a blow dryer you get more of a curl, I decided to try it. I gently heated the eyelash curler with the dryer, curled my lashes with the curler, applied L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Primer and Diorshow Pump ‘N’ Volume Mascara my lashes had curl, length, and volume. Unfortunately, I didn’t find this product on their website. I’m wearing the mascaras in the photo below.

Surprise Extra Full-Sized Item: Fringe Lavender & Rose Hand Cream – Retail Value $30.00 (found here for $10.00)
Enclosed in my box was a note indicating their thanks for being a loyal subscriber and to recognize that loyalty I received a full-sized surprise item, hand cream. Let me know what you received in the comments.
I was unable to find this product’s web address but found the item on Poshmark. The hand cream didn’t have the tool that’s at the end of the cap to poke a hole in the tube of hand cream, so I had to use my scissors to open the opening of the hand cream tube. I hate when this happens. The hand cream is lightweight and slightly greasy, I think I applied a little too much. The hand cream is heavily scented. The scent I received is Scent No.13, Lavender & Rose and it came in a rose covered box. I like a light hand cream but the scent is too strong, I may use as a body cream. I appreciate SinglesSwag’s generosity and thoughtfulness in sending the surprise item.
Verdict: The January SinglesSwag box seems like a repeat of past boxes, nothing new to show for the New Year, which is a disappointment. I received more facial sheet masks, a matte liquid lipstick, Spongellé product, which seems to be a staple in subs, a necklace that’s similar to past styles and repeat brands that were included last year. I will use all the products in the box and the products are practical but this sub needs to spice it up, seek out new brands, up and coming styles and trends for “2019” and beyond. This subscription has the stamina and proven itself to be a “go-to lifestyle box for women whether they are single or not. Let’s hope they step up their game in 2019, but with this being said, it’s still my favorite women’s subscription box.
