Amber & Dusk by Lyra Selene  - Retail Value $18.99 (Found here for $12.87)

Book Summary from Amazon:

Sylvie has always known she deserves more. Out in the permanent twilight of the Dusklands, her guardians called her power to create illusions a curse. But Sylvie knows it gives her a place in Coeur d'Or, the palais of the Amber Empress and her highborn legacies.

So Sylvie sets off toward the Amber City, a glittering jewel under a sun that never sets, to take what is hers.

But her hope for a better life is quickly dimmed. The empress invites her in only as part of a wicked wager among her powerful courtiers. Sylvie must assume a new name, Mirage, and begin to navigate secretive social circles and deadly games of intrigue in order to claim her spot. Soon it becomes apparent that nothing is as it appears and no one, including her cruel yet captivating sponsor, Sunder, will answer her questions. As Mirage strives to seize what should be her rightful place, she'll have to consider whether it is worth the price she must pay.

An extraordinary, vividly rendered YA debut.

Every Uppercase book is signed by the author, too:

In terms of vivid descriptions and depictions, I found this book to be the best in its class—I had fun getting lost in its flowery language and it even inspired me to pick up a pen and free-write a little fiction of my own in Selene's style. That said, I had a difficult time engaging with the actual storyline. Having in recent years evolved out of being a somewhat brazen, reckless—but not without direction and ambition—young person, perhaps I identified with Sylvie in ways I wish I didn't. But, alas, perhaps that's art at its finest; a mirror that makes us feel things!

The book also came with an empowering quote print:

Here are the subscription's additional bookish goods for December:

Uppercase-Exclusive Chronicles of Narnia Ornament by Juniper & Ivy Designs - Estimated Value $9.75?

This etched wooden ornament features the silhouette of Narnia's Mr. Tumnus leaning against that iconic lamppost, within the wardrobe's open doors. Of course, The Chronicles of Narnia's story includes the gift-bearing character Father Christmas, so it's fitting to have an ornament on this book's theme. It's not overly Christmas-y, though, so even if you don't celebrate that holiday, it could be hung year-round wherever you wish to use it as a decoration.

Uppercase-Exclusive Ladies of Lit 2019 Wall Calendar by Indigo Eleven Design - Estimated Value $18?

The design of this calendar is just so good! Each month features a quote by a literary muse paired with a gorgeous image by Apurva Bhatt of Indigo Eleven Design.

Here are a couple of favorites.

The last spread of the calendar has space for notes. Great touch!

And, here's an overview of every quote you'll find inside. This is such a gem!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you'll receive the February box.

Verdict: This box has an estimated value of about $38, which is great for a $29 (including free shipping) box. Everything inside is of wonderful quality and, other than the book itself, is an exclusive item you won't find elsewhere. I'm really happy with this subscription!
