Yogi Surprise Jewelry  December 2018 Review

Yogi Surprise Jewelry December 2018 - Info Sheet

Here is the info sheet for this month’s box. This months theme is “New Beginnings.”

Yogi Surprise Jewelry December 2018 - Necklace 1

Yogi Surprise Jewelry December 2018 - Necklace 2

Lakshmi Mala Necklace

A mala is a strand of 108 beads plus a “guru” bead designed to help you with meditation or prayer. From my research, in Hinduism the number 1 stands for God, the universe, or your highest truth (whatever you believe!), the number 0 stands for emptiness and humility in the spiritual practice, and the number 8 stands for infinity and timelessness, which is why the malas are strung with 108 beads.

Yogi Surprise Jewelry December 2018 - Necklace 3

Yogi Surprise Jewelry December 2018 - Necklace 4

This mala is made with citrine, yellow agate, and hematite. The color yellow is supposed to enliven our inner power associated with the Manipura chakra, which is the chakra that contains clarity, self-confidence, wisdom, knowledge, and bliss. Those characteristics sound like great goals for the New Year, and I like that this mala was created to invoke the energy of Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune, and prosperity.

Yogi Surprise Jewelry December 2018 - Bracelet 4

Lakshmi Mala Bracelet

Each strand of these two bracelets is 54 beads, which together makes 108 for the mala meditation. This is made with the same powerful stones, and I like that the closure allows me to put on and take off these bracelets by myself.

Yogi Surprise Jewelry December 2018 - Tea 1

Yogi Surprise Jewelry December 2018 - Tea 2

Rituals Teas by Firepot, 3 sachets – Buy 14 sachets for $9.49

For our snack this month we received three tea sachets from the brand Firepot. Each tea is designed to be consumed along with a yoga practice or mantra to help you achieve your zen. We received the flavors House of Peace (an herbal blend of chamomile, lemongrass, tulsi, rose petals, and ashwagandha root), Soul Revival (turmeric black tea chai), and Illuminated Mind (matcha and Sencha).

The Verdict:  I look forward to my Yogi Jewelry Surprise box every month, and this month I liked being inspired to learn more about my Manipura chakra and the goddess Lakshmi. Yogi Surprise listed the total value of the box as $156. I am not a beading expert, so I cannot attest to the quality, authenticity, or value of the beads included. What I can say is that the pieces felt like they were of good quality (the Mala especially had a solid weight to it), and for the $24.95 I am happy with what I received – especially considering all jewelry is handcrafted with fair trade materials. I do wish we had received more than three tea bags, though!

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the February box.

We ship once in the beginning of the month between the 4th and 13th. Sign up on or by the 13th to get the current month’s box! All orders processed after the 13th will ship the following month.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Have the people who subscribe to this received the January box yet? I am a new subscriber, and my account says “processing”, but I haven’t received anything yet. I know that I am a little too anxious about it, but I’m really looking forward to receiving this. Thanks for any info.

Oops, sorry Jan. I received my Yogi Surprise jewelry box on Jan. 16 but got my regular Yogi Surprise box on Jan. 14. I’ve been a subscriber to both for a few years so if you’re a new subscriber, it might take a little longer. Hope you get it soon. 🙂

Thank you so much, Emmy Lou. I didn’t even think about contacting customer service, but what a good suggestion. I’m really anxious to see it “in person”, the mala looks so beautiful. Thank you for your good wishes, too!

Yes, I received the January box on January 14th, but I live in Southern California, and I think the box is mailed from the Northwest. The box reviewed in this particular review is really the January box and not the December box as shown in the headline of the review on MySubscriptionAddiction. By the way, if you’re worried, you can always send an email to customer service inquiring about your box. I think the customer service for Yogi Surprise is exceptional, and Kayla usually responds within a day to my inquiries.

Great review Jessica! I used to subscribe to this box and agree that for $24.95 it was well worth it. I would have never paid their suggested retail value on the pieces that I had received. Some of the little seed bracelets “bled”. That being said, I really enjoyed the jewelry, treats and information they sent every month.

I believe you are reviewing the January box, and I think the pieces are exquisite and of high quality. I am a longtime subscriber of both Yogi Surprise boxes, and I also look forward to them every month. I’ve purchased quite a few males from the advertisers in Yoga Journal, and mala necklaces of this quality are at least $100.
