Valentine's Day Apollo Surprise Box Review
When you sign up for Apollo Surprise Box, they will have you answer some questions to get a feel for your tastes!
You first begin with your gender. Too bad you can't skip this or have an "either" option. Who's to say what items are more "male" or "female" when it comes to personal preference?
You'll then choose which categories you're interested in (I chose Home Decor, Kitchen, Fancy Food, Outdoor, Beauty & Accessories, and Terrarium & Garden).
Then the styles you are attracted to (I chose Cute, Geek, Romantic, Rustic and Vintage).
You will then choose which plan you want, and when you want it delivered before adding your shipping and payment info.
I received a packing list that shows all the items and the prices Apollo sells them for online. It also shows how much we saved by subscribing. The total cost of this months box was $60.98, my subscription was $34.99 (including shipping) which means I saved $25.99 – its like I got an item for free!
Apollo also sends cards with images and descriptions of the stuff I got in my box.
Sterling Silver Rose Necklace – Listed Retail Value $21.99
This was an Apollo Surprise Box exclusive, so I was unable to find it in the store. It is a pretty necklace, in sterling silver. The rose is 1 ½ inches long from the bottom of the stem to the top of the petals. The rose itself is a pretty charm, but the necklace does feel a little flimsy and I am afraid it will break easily. I do want to mention how awesome the box was that it came in though. It is not like a simple jewelry box but is a compact-like box with plastic. When opened, the necklace just slides right out. It is one of the most original jewelry boxes I have seen and I may like it more than the necklace.
Elodie Unicorn Planter – Retail Value $24.00
I was REALLY hoping I would get a planter when I signed up and chose cute in my style preferences. So, when I opened my box and saw a UNICORN planter, I was over-the-moon excited and I am sure that is exactly how one is supposed to feel when subscribing for the Apollo Surprise Box. Elodie is a pretty planter, nice and small with a golden horn and rainbow tail. I subscribe to a succulent’s box monthly and put one in there for a perfect fit! I love this so much and it was my favorite item in the box.
Magic Secret Greeting Card – Retail Value $4.99
I have never seen this before and think it’s a pretty cool idea. It’s a simple but pretty thick card with a message “I’m Such a Fool.” When held up against a light, a hidden message is revealed:
“I’m Such a Happy Fool In Love With You.” It came with an off-white envelope with speckles of different colors.
Hogwarts House Bomb – Listed Retail Value $10.00 (Found here for $4.99)
I originally saw this in Jessica’s review of the September Enchantment Box and REALLY wanted one. I was stoked to receive my very own sorting – err—bomb and could not wait to see where I was destined to be placed.
This bomb was so delightful and entertaining. From the drop, it sizzled and spun creating what looked like a hurricane in my tub. The fragrances released were strong and absolutely lovely. As my bomb shrunk, the green started to release into my tub officially deeming me a Slytherin. I’ve always placed myself in Gryffindor, but after asking Google some characteristics of a Slytherin (ambitious, strong leaders and achievement orientated) I guess I would have to agree – though I am not cunning. Either way, I loved this bath bomb and was immediately engulfed in a relaxing bath.
The Verdict: This was my first Apollo Surprise Box and I am overall very happy with what I received. I really felt like my preferences shaped this box – I received a romantic, cute, geeky box and I cannot wait to see what is to come!

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? The items in your box will vary to the preferences you chose, so you may not get the same items I got. Also, upon signing up, you select a delivery date, so you can really choose when you get your first box.
