BloomsyBox February 2019 Review
BloomsyBox bouquets arrive with their blooms wrapped in paper and then in plastic for protection.
The stems are secured to the box with a zip tie so they don't jostle around and protected by styrofoam. They usually have a BloomsyBox-themed ribbon wrapped around them but this month it was a simple red ribbon. I like that better because then I can reuse it!
In past months, I've received two packets of flower food with BloomsyBox branding on the packaging, but this month's just included one packet of FloraLife brand flower food. That's not the only thing that was out-of-the-ordinary about my February box: there were no cards explaining what types of blooms I received, no Rain Forest Alliance info, and finally, this month's bouquet was not single-variety! Mysteries all around!
As usual, I filled my vase about halfway with room temperature water and added the entire packet of flower food.
Then I snipped the ends of my stems at an angle. Some of them were very woody and required that I sort of just broke them with my scissors.
Wow, these are gorgeous! I'm not sure how they arrived to me looking so fresh seeing that they weren't in water while in transit. I absolutely love the berries—they add a wintry touch—and the sprig of eucalyptus.
Despite the lack of info, I recognize many of the flowers in this bouquet. The big, bright pink ones are calla lilies, and the softer pink ones are stargazer lilies. There are also pale pink gerbera daisies mixed in. I love the way this mix of blossoms looks in my angled gold vase.
Here the flowers are the next day displayed on my piano. They looked just as fresh as they did on day one, and, while not pictured here, they also looked amazing on day three. I think using a vase with a small opening helps them look perky since they don't have a choice but to stand tall, but even the petals themselves remained crisp.
Verdict: After two single-variety deliveries from BloomsyBox, my third month brought a mixed bouquet of very fresh-looking flowers. This was my favorite delivery yet! Both because the bright color brought a bit of brilliance to my winter days, and because they arrived in the best condition out of any of the flowers I've received so far. This box costs $49.99, and this month was the best value to date, in my opinion.
