Seal’s Honor by Megan Crane – Retail Value $7.99 (found here for $5.98)
One thing I appreciate about Bubbles & Books is that that usually send books that draw me in and entertain me. Once I started reading this on a lazy Sunday morning, I was able to go through it quickly. I haven’t read anything from Megan Crane before, and I liked the mix of high-stakes drama thrown in with the rural Alaskan wilderness and Chicago! My biggest complaint is one that is typical of romance novels- these characters really fall in love way too fast.
From Amazon:
The last thing Blue Hendricks needs six months into his uneasy reentry into civilian life is trouble in the form of his old friend's kid sister, all grown up and smack in the middle of a dangerous murder investigation. But he didn't become a SEAL to turn his back on the hard stuff, and he can't bring himself to ignore Everly's call for help--no matter how much he knows he's not fit to be around the soft, vibrant woman she's become. Not after the things he's done.
Everly Campbell is desperate. When her roommate is murdered and the body vanishes, Everly fears she might be next. With no one to believe her, Everly runs to a remote Alaskan town to find a man she only vaguely remembers and his crew of ex-military brothers who could be her only hope. Blue wants to keep things all business but Everly isn't a little girl anymore and the commanding former SEAL is more temptation than she can resist.
As the men on Everly's trail draw closer, Blue will do anything to protect the woman he's starting to think of as his...
Sweet 4 Fuel Fairy Dust Bath Bomb Dust, 8 oz – Estimated Value $8 (based on a similar item here)
Bubbles & Books has really been stepping up their bath product game, and this bath bomb dust was delightful! I thought it would be only blue, but once it hit the water I saw that there were various rainbow bits that made my bath feel more magical. I used about a third of this bag for one bath, and I am happy to have two more baths with this. The scent is a blend of fruits, florals, and vanilla, and the overall result was a sweet, fruity scent.
Berwyn Betty’s Crown Bath Bomb, 5 oz – Retail Value $4
This princess bath bomb was a delight! Not only does it smell like strawberries and cream, but it also had a surprise princess toy inside. Mine came with an adorable tiny Aurora, and I enjoyed how much this fizzed and bubbled once it hit the water.
Bubbles & Books Premium Bath Bomb in Sugar Plum Fairy
Another bath bomb! This one is in a sweet sugar plum fairy scent, and it was a sweet, fruity scent that I really enjoyed. This was a fizzer that made my entire bathroom smell delightful.
Bubbles & Books Bubble Bath
I love mixing bubble bath with bath bombs, and this little container contains the perfect amount for one good bubble bath. This didn’t really have a discernable scent that my nose could pick up, but I was still happy with the bubbles it created.
Verdict: I am loving the Bubbles & Books makeover! I feel like they have really stepped up their game, and I appreciate that nothing in this box felt like filler- it seemed like everything had a specific purpose to fit with the fairy tale theme. The quality of the bath goodies received is far and above what was sent previously, and I really do feel like I am getting a thoughtfully curated experience. I couldn’t find a value for everything in this box, but I do think the products have enough of a value to meet the cost of the box plus shipping. I personally appreciate discovering new books and authors through this subscription, and I don’t mind breaking even when the curation stays this great.
