CHC Vintage Pittsburgh Pierogi Race Vintage Tee & Purse Review
I love that each box comes with a handwritten note.
Pittsburgh Pierogi Race T-Shirt
I've been getting a lot of Pittsburgh-specific gems from CHC Vintage, but this month's look might be my absolute favorite! The Pittsburgh Pierogi Race happens at every Pittsburgh Pirates home baseball game—four people dressed in delightfully corny pierogi costumes run, doughy suits flopping wildly, around the perimeter of the field. It's kooky, wonky, wonderful fun, and the city has embraced it whole-heartedly. I've had heated arguments with people about which pierogi is the best. (The frowny-faced Cheese Chester is my all time favorite—I met him once!—seconded by Jalapeno Hannah, and I have just NO patience for Potato Pete...)
This tee is just as wonderfully corny as the race itself. I mean, that Comic Sans font? Amazing! It's a pretty standard cotton promotional tee—not as soft as a blend might be, but not stiff either. It'll be a total hit around town, I just know it.
Mustard Yellow Crocheted Sweater Purse
I thought this was a hat at first, but it's actually a snuggly little purse. I think this is crocheted as opposed to knit—anyone know a sure-fire way to tell the difference? It's different from anything I currently have, and I love the warm color. It's so retro, yet something about it (maybe just the unique texture) feels like the kind of intriguingly out-of-the-ordinary accessory that'd catch my eye at Free People or Anthropologie.
Here's how everything looks on me.
Verdict: I've been loving all the Pittsburgh merch I've been getting—I hope other subscribers get the same personal attention! I can definitely see myself using both of these pieces, especially since the shirt fits so comfortably. (I dig the roomy short sleeves.) I do have my fingers crossed for some non-Pittsburgh items though, now that my Pittsburgh wardrobe is thoroughly stocked up! Plus, I'd just like to see what other picks they can find that match my aesthetic, not just my interests.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you subscribe today? No, every box is different based on your style and size preferences.
Value Breakdown: This box costs $30.00, including free shipping (though note that you have to sign up for at least 3 months at one time, for a total of $90.00), meaning that the two featured items have an average of $15.00 each.
