Cloth & Paper is a monthly stationery subscription box that offers 3 types of subscriptions from lifestyle and stationery shop, Cloth & Paper.
Cloth & Paper offers a pens-and-pencils-focused subscription called “Penspiration,” a stationery box focused on stationery items and a box combining the two. With the Penspritation and Stationery Box subscription (which I’m reviewing today), you can expect 5-8 stationery items plus 4-6 pens!
This review is of the Cloth & Paper Penspiration and Stationery, $48 a month, box.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Our January 2019 Review
Each box comes with a greeting card with a message from Cloth & Paper. I also received an insert in this month’s box promoting one of the items I received.
Capsule Wardrobe Inserts
This is the item that was on the insert this month and is a brand new item to Cloth & Paper. These were crafted with a fashionista at mind and is for wardrobe inventory and similar to a style guide.
The back side has an inventory list of what is owned.
Here are some up-close images of the front of the paper. It has a section for the season year, a grid for swatches, either accent or neutrals, a section for memo, statement pieces, basics, and accessories. At the bottom, there is a section for investment wishlist. While this concept is great for a fashionista, college student or an organized teenager, it is just not for me. I loathe cleaning out my closet and the idea of writing it all down is exhausting! And there is no way I would inventory my items. I am almost 30, y’all, but my junior prom dress is still in my closet. I guess you can say I have a hard time letting clothes go, so there is just no way I would ever use these. Cloth & Paper sent us 15 individual Capsule sheets.
NOTES Sheets
Now, this is more like it! I love practical items that will get used. These note sheets are perfect! They are lined on both sides. They are loose and are perfect for a planner. I received 15 individual sheets.
Urgent and Memo Sticky Pads
I love sticky pads and will never tire of receiving them. I really like the one’s Cloth & Paper sends out, too. This month, I got two pads, one labeled Urgent and the other Memo. Each pad has 50 pages.
Today List Memo NotePad
This is probably my favorite pad Cloth & Paper has sent, like ever. I love how to top portion is numbered for tasks and how the bottom is lined for notes. Checklists are a must in my industry, and sometimes I cannot complete a task because something is missing or pending, so this pad is beyond perfect. I also love how thick this pad is too! There are 100 pages!!! Seriously a superior item!
Black Sticky Note Set
I love this set! I have already proclaimed my love for sticky pads and I have lucked out receiving a total of 4 this month. But subscribers got extra lucky since half of them are black! I also really appreciate that they sent a white gel pen with them. Each sticky pad has about 100 pages, so these should last a long while. The only thing I didn’t love about this sticky pad was how the sticky part covered like ¾ of the pad when normally its just a little on the top, but it’s not a big complaint and more of a personal preference. Oh, and in case you are wondering, that big black piece is just a piece of cardboard. Nothing spectacular 😊
M&G Chic Style Pen
The last item in this month’s box is this pen. I appreciate the pens Cloth & Paper includes in the stationary subscription, especially if you're not subscribed to the Penspiration. This pen is retractable with a clear barrel so you can observe when the ink is low. It is a 0.5mm pen and is in black gel ink. It wrote okay and is pretty comfortable.
The next part of the review is of the Penspiration subscription. Cloth & Paper allows you to subscribe to this on its own or paired with the stationery box. With every Pensipiration subscription, you get this way cool see-through pen/pencil pouch to hold all your fantastic new writing tools!
Each Penspiration sub sends out at least 5 new utensils, mostly pens and sometimes mechanical pencils too. This month I feel like we hit the jackpot! We received 7 pens! (Crossing my fingers for a blue one!) The Penspiration box also sends a card to test out our new tools.
900M Swiss Pen
The first pen I received is not much of a looker. It has a nice black barrel and is retractable. But as soon as I wrote with it, it just glided. This is one of the best black pens ever and is a new favorite. It is a 0.5mm black gel ink pen.
Hygge Life Pen
This pen is so pretty! I love the tiffany blue barrel with the gold accent around the top of the pen. It is a retractable 0.5mm black gel ink pen and features a grip for comfortable writing. I was not super impressed when I wrote with it, but it still seems like a great, sturdy pen.
Zebra SX-60A5
This is like a classic pen. I used to be jealous of the kids that had these pens in school; they’ve always just appeared fancy to me. It has a removable cap, a black barrel and is a 0.5mm pen with black gel ink. It writes smooth and nice, but the ink has to dry otherwise it will smudge.
Truecolor A153
This pen is different than the others. It has a clip that you push on the top to clip on to a planner or a shirt. It features a clear barrel, but the ink is covered so you cannot really monitor when it runs low. When I initially looked at it, I thought it was white ink and was ready to bust out with my amazing black sticky pads. But when I put pen to paper, I discovered black gel ink. The pen is retractable and is 0.5mm.
M&G Chic Style Pen
This pen is a retractable 0.38mm pen with black gel ink. I received a 0.5mm pen in the Cloth & Paper stationary subscription so it was pretty cool to get one that was a different size. It seemed to write okay and was smooth against the paper. Not a favorite, but a good pen.
Zebra Sarasa Speedy
Do you ever feel like the pen determines the way you write? That is how I felt with this pen. I was just the person who held it and the pen led the way. It is a pretty pen, in a translucent barrel with black gel ink. It is a retractable .05mm pen.
Kaco Green Midot
This pen is so pretty! I love the bright yellow, smooth barrel. It is a retractable black gel ink pen, measuring at 0.5mm. It wrote nicely and is definitely a pen I will keep in the office. If someone were to take it, I would spot it a mile away!
Verdict: Cloth & Paper is a box that excites me when I open the mailbox. Every month I received some great office stuff, and this month was no different. I also like that they sent out a new item to subscribers, but wish they would have set something up for people who have no use for the Capsule pages because I feel like they are just wasted. My favorite item in the stationary box this month is definitely the Today List Memo Pad.
