Laurel & Reed February 2019 Review

The front of the info card features a lovely print on one side, and the items clearly listed out with retail prices and short descriptions on the other.
Revival Body Care Rose & Vanilla + Sugar Lip Scrub, 1 oz. - Retail Value $7.95
This is a really nice lip scrub! I find this one to be a lot more gritty than the average scrub with larger pieces but it's still gentle enough for soft lips. I'm also really into the rose component of this scrub. Normally, lips scrubs are sugary so even though this one has vanilla to cover that ground, I love the floral rose portion as well. It reminds me of rose candy which I love. The jar is a nice size as well so this is going to last quite a while. This one shoots to the top of my lip scrub queue!
Sahara Rose Luminous Clarifying Cleanser, 3.4 oz. - Retail Value $48.00
Sahara Rose was a featured brand in another beauty box I subscribe to, so I'm familiar with some of their products. This cleanser is thin and milky so while it's not my preferred consistency, it feels really nice while in use. It's one of those cleansers that also feels like you're moisturizing at the same time. That makes sense because it includes all sorts of great ingredients like aloe leaf juice, rosewater, sweet almond oil, sunflower oil, and argan oil among many more. The bonus is that it also leaves the skin feeling a lot more hydrated than other cleansers that can leave my skin so clean that it feels stripped. If you're looking for a gentle cleanser and need all the moisture you can get, this is a great one to use!
Revival Body Care Grapefruit + Mint Body Scrub, 4 oz. - Listed Retail Value $9.98 (Buy 8 oz for $19.95)
The second item from Revival in this month's box is a scrub for your body. I simply adore both grapefruit and mint, so I'm over the moon about this combo! This scrub seems a bit moister than the lip one. It's made with sugar, Himalayan sea salt, and coconut oil along with grapefruit and peppermint essential oils. It smells completely divine. As with all scrubs, you're going to get some fallout but the coconut oil keeps things together slightly. It also soothes the skin as you're scrubbing and you can really feel the tingle of the peppermint which is invigorating. The directions ask you to leave it on your skin for a few minutes to let the ingredients do their work before rinsing away. This really left my skin feeling soft, bright, and new.
20 East Nebula Squalane Facial Oil, 0.25 oz. - Retail Value $18.00
I received a different facial oil from this same brand in my very first Laurel & Reed box back in August and immediately fell in love. This particular oil is made with 5% fruit extracts and contains Lactic Acid (from Bilberry), Glycolic Acid (from Sugar Cane), Citric Acid (from Orange and Lemon), and Malic and Tartaric Acids (from Sugar Maple), along with squalane which is highly moisturizing without causing any clogged pores which leads to blemishes. I am just loving the pale pink hue and fruity scent of this super lightweight facial oil. I only need to use a tiny amount to spread over my face and it leaves a very light sheen on my face while it slowly absorbs. This is a really delightful oil and the tiny bottle and dropper make it perfect for travel so I can pack light.
Selia & Co Soothe Geranium + White Tea Skin Tonic, 2 oz. - Retail Value $24.00
I immediately took the cap off of this and sprayed it directly onto my face as soon as I read the soothing words "geranium + white tea". Gosh, that sounds refreshing, right? It is! Yes, this can not only be sprayed onto the face after cleansing and before serums/oils/moisturizers, but can also be used to freshen your face up later in the day when things are feeling dry or dull, plus it can be used to replace water in clay masks (one of my favorite uses). After the quick few spritzes, my face immediately felt a little perky and soft. This smells incredible too!
The Verdict: Laurel & Reed really made me smile this month. Always wonderful at curation, they included more items than usual but it all smelled nice, made sense, and gave me butterflies as I opened it. The face oil and kin tonic were probably my faves, but the scrubs and cleanser were wonderful too! I actually have really enjoyed the lip scrub a lot more than I thought I would! Always classy, I think L&R delivers a wonderful way to discover new clean beauty products!
