ShaggySwag delivers high quality, one-of-a-kind dog treats, toys, and other essential items in a curated monthly box. They have newly released a second box, ShaggyStyle, to set pups up with rad garments to rock. Their mission is to provide cool dog owners across the U.S. with a monthly delivery filled with top-of-the-line essentials, nutritious treats, exclusive toys, and dog swag inspired by the hip pets and humans of NYC.

ShaggySwag box types are determined based on the size of your pup. My Airedale/Lab mix, Del, weighs in at 55 pounds, which landed him in the Beastmode Shaggy large breed classification. The other options are Tiny Shaggy (dogs up to 10 pounds), Small Shaggy (dogs from 10-25 pounds), and Just Shaggy (dogs from 25-50 pounds).

This is a review of the Beastmode Shaggy Style, $30 a month, box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

ShaggyStyle January 2019 Review

Back in September, ShaggySwag gave a little shout-out to the upcoming release of the ShaggyStyle box option and this is my second time reviewing it! I want to note that I use "ShaggySwag" and "ShaggyStyle" interchangeably throughout this review, and both are linked to the same URL. That's because you sign up for both starting from the same place, then make your specific selection through the sign-up process. Del's new year's resolution here (I wrote it in on the card above) references the chicken bones he somehow always seems to find on walks...he picks them up as though he knew they were there waiting for him. It drives us crazy!

FabDog Bae Dog Hoodie – Retail Value $38.00 (found here for $25.00)

Last month's ShaggyStyle Christmas sweater was my first-ever time dressing Del in clothes, and it made a believer out of me. We couldn't get over how dapper he looked in his sweater! This grey hoodie is a whole other league—its "BAE" screen print, front zipper, and hood make quite the statement. I love that it's lined with a waffle material for extra warmth, and that, like last time, it has a hole at the neckline to attach a leash to his collar underneath.

Here's Del with his little sister: bae and baby, haha! Despite the high quality of this hoodie, it's simply not our style. But, I know just who I'll gift it to: my biker dude friend's spoiled pit named Kitty. Her signature look is a pink hoodie, but I have a feeling this one will join in the heavy rotation!

Pawmiscuous What's Shakin' Bacon? Dog Bandana, Size L – Estimated Value $20.00

Next up is this dog bandana. How cute are the happy faces on the bacon slices? This is thick and high-quality. This exact bandana is no longer available on the Pawmiscuous website, but here's another bacon-themed one!

Del was eagerly waiting for dinner in this picture, which is why he looks a little crazed! Similar to the sushi bandana we received back in August, this accessory seems to have a little too much fabric for comfortable wear, so I might cut it in half diagonally so it's just a single layer, and share the other half with a dog friend!

Pet 'n Shape Bacon'd Strips with Duck & Bacon Dog Treats, 6 oz – Retail Value $5.99

These treats are known and loved in our family and Del could NOT contain himself when he first got a whiff! I am a fan of these treats because they lack wheat, corn, soy, and artificial preservatives/flavors.

I usually rip them in half before giving them to him because he always comes back for more. So this way I can give him "more" treats without going overboard.

Tuff Enuff Skele-Ropes Pig Dog Toy – Retail Value $7.99

When I started reviewing this box, Del was a mild-mannered guy who would gnaw on toys all day without threatening to tear them up. Since then, the animal inside of him has really come alive and he now ruins toys left and right—dog toys and baby toys, haha. These Tuff Enuff ones are basically the only kind we can keep around!

I love that they have ropes inside to make them stronger and to really give him something to grab onto with his teeth.

This funny little big is a great addition to Del's toy collection...one which had been dwindling up until this new arrival came!

Verdict: This was another fun ShaggyStyle box! While the hoodie wasn't our style, the bandana, treats, and toy are awesome and will be loved over and over again. As many of you know, ShaggySwag supports Badass Brooklyn Animal Shelters. Woohoo!

This month's ShaggySwag box contents added up to $71.98, which is a good deal for a $32.00 per month + free shipping box cost.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign-up today? No. If you order today, you'll receive the February box. From ShaggySwag:

We will ship your first box within 7-10 business days of placing your order. For every month after that, you can expect delivery of your box within the last week of the month.

My dog destroyed their shredderz toys two boxes in a row. I paid more for these toys and my beagle/chi mix had to have them taken away after an hour of use.

They do not offer refunds

They charge your card 2 weeks before you receive your box.

I paid $10 for a tye dye cloth for a bandana.

I tried to venture out from the norm, bark box and chewy, big mistake.

Co founder Mr. Riley responded to by refund request after I stated I would return the defective products (btw the sun toy I just got had nylon bits peeling off in 20 min and prob in my dogs stomach) and he refused but offered replacements.

If your product seems harmful and faulty, the last thing a dog owner wants is a replacement.
