January 2019 Vinyl Me, Please Review
The January 2019 Vinyl Me, Please Subscription Box featured Cosmogramma from Flying Lotus.
It comes with this little wrap around the spine of the LP. You'll get a little note from the curator along with the drink recipe.
As always, it's also accompanied by an LP-size piece of artwork. The January piece was designed by David McLeod.
The design of the packaging has the same feel as the album, to me - a bit of organized craziness.
This might go down as my favorite pressing from Vinyl Me, Please. This two-tone marble vinyl is really a showstopper for me.
I've never been a Flying Lotus fan - so I went in knowing what to expect and with the expectation that it might not be my cup of tea - that idea was pretty much confirmed, but it was still fun giving it a spin.
Verdict: I like using Vinyl Me, Please for two different reasons - revisiting an older album that I love and trying out albums I either have never heard of or listened to on a limited basis. This was definitely the latter, and while my mind wasn't changed, I still enjoy sitting down and giving it a whirl - and that artwork! That artwork made up for a lot of negatives for me.
