This box comes with a card detailing the items included:

Now, on to the items!

ThawTHAT! Modern Defrosting Board - Retail Value $70

This thawing tray is made with conductive aluminum and a biosafe thermal liquid - there is no electricity required. Just put frozen meat directly on to the tray for fast, even defrosting. (It should cut the thawing time for most meats in half.)

The tray itself is a sleek looking modern design with a drip tray.

And you just wash with soapy water to clean.

This gets good reviews online, and I love that it's a kitchen tool that is so easy to use and takes up very little storage space. (You literally just put the meat directly on the surface, and flip the meat halfway through the thaw time.)

KeySmart Pro - Retail Value $60

This is amazing - definitely my favorite item in the box!

This keychain tool keeps up to 10 keys organized in a slim swiss-army like key-ring.

And you just download the Tile app so that you can always find your keys with your phone.

It comes with a bottle opener and a flashlight, too.

And you can press the tile button twice and it will make your phone ring - even if it is on silent!

(I almost always have my phone on silent and have "lost" it in my house on enough occasions that it's now a running joke with my husband, so this feature is a serious game-changer.)

It also has a special key loop for your car key fob:

And you also get a $5 gift card to use on additional accessories:

I think I'll need to buy another one of these - my husband Eric wants one, too!

The AirFly by TwelveSouth - Retail Value $40

Just like the keychain, this device is so smart and simple!

You can use it to pair your AirPods or any other wireless headphones with any wired headphone jack (like an in-flight entertainment system, a treadmil, etc.)

It comes with a USB charging cable, and the charge lasts for up to 8 hours.

And it comes with a pouch to keep everything together. (This is going straight to my carry-on bag!)

Nourish Nutrition Scale - Retail Value $40

Admittedly, I don't use a scale for measuring food, but it appears that this is pretty much the best scale there is - it gets excellent reviews on Amazon.

I do love that you get all the nutritional info instantly with this scale - you just enter the specific food code to get the nutrition facts for the item you are weighing. (The food code book includes the 2,000 foods in the scale's database, and you can add up to 99 custom entries.)

You can also save everything you weigh to get a daily total.

And to accompany this food scale, subscribers also get two digital books from Renaissance Periodization:

The books included are:

Just like the scale, I think these books are a good fit for people who follow a certain way of eating/preparing food. (The cookbook is focused on providing macro info for each meal - no pictures here!) These aren't a good fit for my lifestyle + dietary needs, but I'm curious if you'd be happy to see these in a box. Let me know!

W&P Switch Game - Retail Value $25

The objective is simple: Be the first player to arrange four of your game pieces in a two-by-two square. But winning this clever two-person game requires both a keen memory and cunning strategy.

I welcome any activity that reminds me to get away from a screen, and this board game also brings a clean design, so I was excited to try it.

You divide the pieces between yourself and your opponent and try to get a square of 4 of your color. (But in addition to placing a piece, or moving one of the pieces that are your color, you can also flip a piece - and some have the opposite color on the back.)

I played two rounds with my husband Eric, and it's a quick + simple game that can definitely be more challenging once we get into strategy. (I like that it isn't too complicated to start playing quickly, though!)

Xpand Shoelaces - Retail Value $20

These are another super smart + simple invention that I'm already addicted to! (Breo Box is really great at finding a few items every season that really wow me.)

Subscribers get both a white and black set. The laces are elastic, and you just thread them how you'd thread normal laces, install the anchor tab, then cut off the excess lace:

And you can use these for any shoes - not just sneakers. I will be using the black ones in a pair of boots!

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $307. I think that's good for the $144 cost with the MSA coupon. I'm really impressed with the item selection this season - all the products get really good reviews, and a lot of them are a great fit for me. (The scale and the ebooks are the only misses for me - but that's a personal diet thing.) I really love everything else, and there are items that I will use every single day like the keychain and the shoelaces!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, the Spring box is still available!

My box came apart at the seams😐. This is the first time it’s happened! I really wanted to repurpose it.

My husband loves the Breo Box! I never have to shop for gifts anymore. He gets one for Christmas, birthday, Father’s Day, and our anniversary. There’s always something for everyone in our family. The surprise element/trying new things/curated shopping is what you pay for. And their customer service rocks!

@ Liz, thanks for a great review. The breo insert has the scale listed as $49, but the review shows $40. Thx

DawnS

Breo might have it listed at $49 but MSA does its best to show what you would actually pay to purchase it yourself. In this instance Amazon has it for $39.99 with free shipping hence the $40 valuation. Hope that helps.

Are there other subs that come in a wooden box like this? Love the box, but Breo is a bit too techie for me.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

Does keysmart require a subscription?

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

No it just uses an app.

Beth

Personally, I wish they’d give (at least the option of) boxes that were not colored. I could see using them to build a mini bookcase. I think they would be much more appealing. Also, I’d like too see Breo put a finger notch on both sides of the lid so that I can flip the lid over (ie hide logo) when using at home.

I’d be curious as to what others think about these ideas and if/how you are using their boxes.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

You can sand them and re-stain them whatever color you want.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

I’ve yet to receive elbow grease in any subscription box and can’t find it on amazon?

TK

I actually like the varied colors of the boxes but it would be nice to be able to flip the lid. My favorites have been the pink and red boxes. I hope they never do away with them. This box is pretty great. My son will love the key thing and the gadget to use with his airpods. He loved the mug from the last box. I wear tennis shoes almost every day so the laces are great. We may end up gifting the scale and thaw plate. We love Breo box! There’s always something new and innovative that we wouldn’t think to buy for ourselves. This is our 6th box and look forward to many more.

My brother mounted a few on the wall so the opening is in the front. He then added a shelf going across the middle to make it two shelves. He uses it for toiletries in his bedroom. Not fancy but gets the job done. If you search zolovethesnow in IG there’s a photo. The box that had the bathroom scale was larger than others so it holds more vertically. I’m looking for more ideas as well. The red box is my favorite and I’d like to find a way to use it while highlighting my favorite color.

socaldeb

Have you been able to stop the dye transfer on the red one? Such a nice box but the red gets all over everything.

Becky

I use my boxes as a bookshelf! It’s next to my craft area, so the colorful combination works well with the various colors of yarn and fabric I have.

Jerilynn

Very glad I didn’t skip the box this time. I am at the lowest rate and really love all the items in this box!

Rachel

Someone let me know how that scale works? I’ve been looking at buying one, but haven’t justified buying one since the one I have works fine. 🙂 I’ll swap for it and try it if anyone is getting rid of theirs.

If you have Xpand laces you don’t plan to use, please do consider donating them to a service for people with disabilities or physical challenges. I’ve been sending these laces to a family member in another country since they debuted on kickstarter. He has MS and the laces have enabled him to keep wearing his favourite shoes and boots. They are really helpful for people with fine motor control issues.

Anna

I instantly wanted these for my son. I really think these would be good for kids with autism.

Reply ButtonReply

Heather

That’s a great idea. Thanks for sharing.

Reply ButtonReply

chris

Didn’t we get a red scale last year?

Reply ButtonReply

Vicki

Yep, Fall 2017. Too recent to be sending another one, IMO.

Reply ButtonReply

Heather

I think Breo is great this month!. I wish I’d had the “Airfly” last week. I traveled with only Airpods. I didn’t feel like reading a book, and didn’t want to buy a disposable airplane headset. So, I ended us reading two movies. I’m pretty sure those beasts would have been more fantastic if I’d been able to hear them.

I use a scale for most of my baking (we have pizza night on Fridays, and I make the dough during the week). This is thinner than my current scale, which I like. It seems like the nutrition part would be a bit limiting, but I guess I’ll see.

I’ve see meat thawing trays before and thought they were pretty interesting, but have a hard tie believing it works. I’m excited to try it.

My son has a tile for his keys, and I think he has to use it once a week to find his keys, so I can see this key chain being an upgrade for him.

The game and shoe laces are a bonus item. I’ll probably use the laces, but they’re not really all that exciting. I don’t really see using the game at all, but not caring for a filler item doesn’t deter from the rest of the box.

I would love this box, it is so fun for discovery. I will have to subscribe one day after I remove some subscriptions.

Reply ButtonReply

Jenn

I cancelled after the last box but would have been happy with this – except I already have that same exact scale and have never once used it. lol If I could resub and continue at the lower price point, I’d probably give this one a go.

Reply ButtonReply

Leah Hodge

Same here re the scale! I’ll have to sell or gift the one I previously purchased.

Reply ButtonReply

Elise

Every single item in this box is a “wow” item! This is the best box by them I’ve seen!

Reply ButtonReply

Juliane Marchesani

So bummed, I really like Breo, but unfortunately this box is just not for me. I don’t eat meat, so the thawing tray is useless to me, I don’t need a scale as I don’t bake or have ever been on a diet, I travel once a year for vacation, so maybe I can use the Airpods. I don’t think I own a pair of shoes that have laces. I hardly ever wear sneakers. So maybe I will use the keysmart and the game? Yep…..Bummed.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

I’m sure you could use the thawing tray for anything frozen. There’s nothing specific to meat except the marketing of it.

Reply ButtonReply

azdesertgrl

I’ve always used a cookie sheet to quickly thaw anything frozen. This looks like a fancier version of a cookie sheet, so you could probably use this sheet for that purpose as well.

Reply ButtonReply

Ann

Lots of high tech items..perfect warm weather Intro..love the idea of the shoe laces since I live in my tennis shoes especially with the warm weather approaching. The meat thawer is such a convenient idea especially with bbq season around the corner. The air fly solves a lot of my problems I had with my AirPods. That nutrition scale will help keep me accountable and spot on with the books. I can’t wait to dive into them to learn a little more about nutrition. Time to get healthy and in shape for summer!! Overall, put together nicely. I will get use out of all the items.

Reply ButtonReply

Ks

Not a bad box but I’m glad I skipped. Cool items but more for someone who has the space for all those things.

Reply ButtonReply

katie

Looks like a great box!

Reply ButtonReply

Julie F.

I am also curious if the key ring would get through security, I wonder if the information on the box says FAA approved.

Reply ButtonReply

socaldeb

I assume you mean because of the bottle opener? Yes, they’re approved. You can confirm that on the TSA web site.

I can live without the game. I’m all about healthy eating but couldn’t care less about the latest fad du jour, so the books are a miss. Otherwise, I’ll use the heck out of this box. Arrives Friday!

Reply ButtonReply

Victoria

Food scales are great for baking! I measure everything by weight and it makes a huge difference since there’s a huge margin for user error when using measuring cups. I wish the scale allowed for milliliters and fluid ounces too, though. I canceled Breo about a year ago and this is the first box that’s impressed me lately.

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

I wonder if the key thing would be able to go through airport security? I know they have specific regulations.

Also, the scale is also really useful for baking! You get much more accurate results if you are weighing your ingredients. Just an idea of another way to utilize it.

Reply ButtonReply

Dani

The idea of leaving raw meat totally uncovered out on a counter turns my stomach. Definitely seems like a breeding ground for bacteria.

Reply ButtonReply

azdesertgrl

I’ve always used a cookie sheet to thaw my meat (and anything else that’s frozen). I don’t remove the frozen item from the packaging until after it’s thawed. Not sure if removing it from the packaging is required for this board, but you could try thawing that way if you are concerned about bacteria or clean-up. And like Dorothy pointed out, the temperature control and quick thaw will prevent bacteria growth.

Reply ButtonReply

Dorothy

The point of the tray is that it won’t become a breeding ground for bacteria because of the temperature control it offers. You can put some plastic wrap over it but but some meats cook better with a little liquid loss.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

These items looks really useful! Cool box

Madison Kerfoot

putting every item up for swap/sale. Most bummed I’ve been to date. 🙁

Let'sSwap

I’m interested in the KeySmart!

Reply ButtonReply

Becky

Guarantee you’ll rake in some good offers–Breo Box items are a rarity on the swap site and these will appeal to many different interests.

Reply ButtonReply

Diane Janofsky Rooney

I am interested in the Thaw and the food scale for swap or box split.

Reply ButtonReply

Madison Kerfoot

Sorry I don’t get emails when I get a reply to my comment! I’ve listed most of the items already. I’ll keep an eye out for your request then we can message and workout details 🙂

Sally

I’m not a fan of the games they keep putting in this box. Games are one of those things that if I actually wanted them I would go to a discount store and buy one. Not a hit for me this month.

Reply ButtonReply

JulieSR

I agree.. this is my 3rd box and all of my games are stacking up… i do love the wooden box..i have 1 more box to go and i will probably cancel.. sorry Breo.. hoping for a good last box in the summer..
