Burt’s Bees Limited Edition Burt's Box Review
Here is the sheet listing everything that came in the box.
On the back is a list for 30 days of self-care.
We also received a bonus Burt’s Bees branded face towel.
Detoxifying Clay Mask, 0.57 oz – Retail Value $3.49
This mask is made with kaolin clay, charcoal powder, and acai oil to remove impurities from your skin. This wasn't a super drying mask, which I think is important when it comes to clay-based masks (if you let clay masks dry out completely, that usually means the clay is sucking the moisture out of your skin). I wish that (natural) fragrance wasn't so high up on the ingredients list, but on the whole, I think the ingredients list is decent.
Hydrating Overnight Mask, 0.57 oz – Retail Value $3.49
I love sleeping masks, and I haven’t really tried any from drugstore brands! I mixed this with a few drops of facial oil after a LONG day where I literally only washed my face and slapped this on before climbing into bed, and it performed well. I was expecting my skin to be super dry the next morning thanks to the lack of hydrating layers, but it wasn’t. I probably won't reach for this again, though, because it has coconut oil pretty high up on the ingredients list, and coconut oil is comedogenic (meaning it can clog your pores). I love coconut oil on my body and hair, but my face is a coconut oil free zone.
Hydrating Facial Mist, 5 oz – Retail Value $12.99
I wasn’t expecting to like this mist as much as I do - it is very refreshing and the nozzle gave a fine mist rather than a target spray. The third ingredient on the ingredients list is aloe, which is always a welcome skincare ingredient in my life.
Conditioning Lip Scrub, 0.25 oz – Retail Value $8.99
I was impressed with this lip scrub! Made with honey crystals, beeswax, cocoa butter, and honey, this was super nourishing while providing gentle exfoliation. Most of my lip scrubs provide all of the exfoliation but nothing hydrating, so I always follow with a lip oil. After wiping this scrub off, though, I felt ready to go straight to my lipstick.
Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream, 1.8 oz – Retail Value $14.99
This lightweight moisturizer is made with cotton extract, rice extract, and aloe, and it is designed to provide all-day hydration without being too heavy to cause irritation. I found this to be very gentle, and while my skin can be sensitive this wasn’t as nourishing as I what I regularly use. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t my favorite.
Lavender & Honey Hand Cream, 1 oz – Retail Value $5.39
I love lavender, and this was a nourishing hand cream that smelled great without being too strong. It takes a minute to fully absorb, but it doesn’t leave my hands feeling greasy.
Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream, 0.6 oz – Retail Value $5.99
I am pretty sure this is the first cuticle cream I ever used, and I am happy to have another tin of it. A little bit of this salve goes a long way, and it is soothing to the dry cuticles I get frequently thanks to ingredients like beeswax, sweet almond oil, and sunflower oil.
Coconut Foot Cream, 4.34 oz – Retail Value $9.99
For all of the attention I give to the skin on my face, I really spend no time at all on my feet. This cream is made with coconut oil and olive oil, and it felt refreshing thanks to the extracts of rosemary and peppermint. Applying this before slipping on some thick socks made my feet feel so happy!
Enamel Care Toothpaste, 4.7 oz – Retail Value $5.99
Thanks to subscription boxes I don't have to go out and purchase toothpaste anymore, and I like it that way. This had a natural mint flavor while I prefer the mint to be a bit more aggressive, but this left my mouth feeling clean!
Hydrating Lip Oil with Sweet Almond Oil, 0.27 oz – Retail Value $5.99
I love lip oils - I think I prefer them to lip balms! This felt incredibly moisturizing to my lips, and I like the glossy look this gave without being sticky.
Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia, Full-Size! Retail Value $4.99
Vanilla Bean Lip Balm, Full-Size! Retail Value $3.59
Burt's Bees lip balms may be their most popular product! This box is supposed to come with a clear vanilla bean one and a tinted version, but by accident, I received two tinted lip balms. A super quick call to customer service had the vanilla bean balm in the mail to me, and I am happy to have all of the nourishing balms that give long-lasting moisture.
Natural Calm from Natural Vitality, 1 pack – Buy a box of 30 packs for $24.95
This powder is designed to be mixed with water to help manage stress, and its main nutrient is magnesium which is supposed to be naturally calming. I am not a big fan of powdered supplements, but I’ll keep this in my pantry for if I ever feel like I need it.
The Verdict: I thought this box was a good mix of household staples! There were a few skincare items, a few odds and ends, and a lot of lip products (which I enjoyed). If environmental sustainability is important to you, I think this box is a good offering of the products that Burt's Bees offer. Value-wise, Burt's Bees promised a $90 value, and they came a bit short with a total value of $85.88
