California Found February 2019 Review

California Found Box Review February 2019 - Booklet Top

Instead of a booklet or pamphlet, California Founds sends these really cool info cards for each product. They are very nice quality and informative. It also points out that they donate 10% of their profit every month to a charitable cause, and this month they are donating to No Kid Hungry: California. Also, they have added a Golden Ticket contest - so if you find one in your sizzle, you get a free box for yourself or a friend!

I send out notecards constantly, so I am always happy to receive a beautiful set like this in a subscription box! The artist behind these cards is Christine May Brand who works out of her Carpentiera, California studio. She draws inspiration from her location between the mountains and the coast.

Spark of Love Candle (8 oz.) by SoulSpark - Retail Value $21.99

I LOVE getting a big candle in a subscription box - it's one of my favorite things to receive, and this one is big and beautiful! It is jasmine and rose scent, but the scent is very light, which is great. It's a clean blend of soy and coconut oils, and apparently, there is a charm at the bottom! SoulSpark is based out of San Diego, California.

California Strawberry Cane Sugar, Pacific Seafood Seasoning Blend, and Taste of California Seasoning Blend by Gustus Vitae - Total Listed Retail Value $30

California Found typically sends a food or beverage item every month, and I'm thrilled to get these cool spice blends this month! They smell incredible! I sampled the strawberry sugar, which of course tastes absolutely amazing. It tastes like real fruit (with sugar), not just "fruity". I can't wait to sprinkle Taste of California on my eggs in the morning! Gustus Vitae is based in Los Angeles, California.

Travel Size Antioxidant Face Oil by Belle & Beast Organics - Retail Value $22 (found here for $18!)

I have kind of sensitive combination skin, so I am always a little wary of skin oils, but this one is great so far. It contains a blend of eleven "dry" oils that absorb into the skin quickly and help your skin regulate oil production! It also has a little geranium in it, which is a very calming scent to me. Belle & Beast Organics is based out of South Pasadena, California, and was started by Christy Marderosian in an effort to produce skincare that is made from only clean and natural ingredients.

Makenzie Earrings in Silver with Aquamarine Swarovski Crystals - Retail Value $43

Look at how bright and gorgeous these earrings are! I absolutely love them. I can always count on California Found to send a jewelry item every month, and I can always count on it being a quality piece. I am extra excited about these earrings because aquamarine is my birthstone. I love them! Robyn Rhodes is based out of Los Angeles.

The Verdict: California Found has become one of my favorite subscription boxes! This month was another great one! I love the earrings soooo much! Everything else is also great and will go to good use. The value of everything adds up to a whopping $136.99, which is way more than the promised value of $90, and the box costs only $49!!!

Absolutely loved this month’s box! Everything is just fantastic and great quality. The face oil is magic! I’ve used other name brand oils with minimal results and this oil showed amazing results after a week. Candle is divine, the spices are delicious & cards are beautiful. I received the aquamarine earrings and wear them almost everyday.
CA Found is my favorite subscription box and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for March!

Those note cards are gorgeous. I’ve been watching the reviews for this box since it came out and everything always seems so high quality and the curations of mixed items are always things I would use or be tickled pink to gift.

This box is a total miss for me. Spices and face oils it seems disjointed

Hi Stuart!
The tie that binds the products is that they’re all California artisan-made. We feature a mix of home goods, gourmet items, jewelry, stationery and beauty in each collection. Bummer that this one was a miss for you! We’ll be spoiling items in the March box soon! Maybe you’ll see something you love about the upcoming collection. Thanks so much for the feedback!

I got the clear earrings. I don’t wear posts so those will make a nice gift. I loved the spices, and the magnetic tins they came in. I just ordered $250 worth and got a 40% discount with the code from the box, so I only paid $150 and got incredibly creative spice blends and flavored sugars to try. I love the note cards and candle too. I don’t need this stuff but I really like it anyway. 🙂

I received the blue earrings which are really gorgeous! I also also loved the candle! I had no use for the spices however and the cards were just so-so.

I also love that this box ships at the end of the month!

This is a wonderful company that honors its subscribers and vendors alike. Woman owned, and also supports other small/woman owned businesses. I’m amazed at the value every month 🥰
