CHC Vintage Plus Clothing Review: 90's Patra Dress
There isn’t a traditional information card or invoice included with the subscription box; you get a personalized handwritten card with styling suggestions instead. I love all the styling tips Nicole and her team included! Their selections for me are always so thoughtful too.
Eggplant Evening Gown by Patra, no size tag
I received this box just in time for the new year. This dress is meant to be more formal. It reminds me of prom and homecoming formal wear from my high school years in the late 90s. I usually don’t wear a lot of purple but I can appreciate this rich eggplant shade. The dress has limited stretch and is more tailored. The chest on this piece has a velvet embossed floral design. In warmer months, one could wear this with a sheer black cape or robe with big, sparkling statement earrings. I opted to style this piece with my go tos: a faux leather biker jacket and studded biker boots. It brings out the ultra-90s grunge vibe this dress potentially possesses!
Verdict: This wasn’t my favorite CHC Vintage piece out of the many I treasure that I have received, but I still appreciate that they sent me a more formal piece! Vintage clothing in plus sizes can be a limited commodity, so even receiving a dressier piece is useful! I am always impressed that each month they manage to send me a piece that fits my bodacious body because let’s be frank, the struggle is real thrifting as a plus size woman. It can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack! As much as I love to hit up thrift stores, flea markets, antique shops, and estate sales I also lead a very busy life and appreciate having someone else do the legwork for me in finding killer vintage. Thanks again, CHC Vintage!
