Our January 2019 Cosmobox Review
We get a handy card detailing all of the items in the box this month.
Also included is a card, with tips on goal setting.
Let's dive in!
RX Bar - Listed Value $4.00 (Buy 12 bars for $20.67)
I love these bars and frequently have them close at hand for when I know I will be eating a meal later than expected or will be facing the temptation to binge on junk food. They have 12 g of protein and taste really great! I am a sucker for any snack that is a mix of salty and sweet, and while I love this Peanut Butter Chocolate flavor, the sea salt flavor is by far my favorite!
Copper + Crane Melting Body Soufflé, 4.2 oz - Retail Value $30.00
This looks so pretty on my nightstand with its elegant metallic lid and minimal design. In addition to being beautifully packaged, this tub of nourishing body butter is also really large! The smell is creamy, floral, and a little musky, but not overpowering. The formula has large amounts of Argan and avocado oil, which makes it truly pampering and hydrating for your skin. I really enjoyed using this on my legs before bed and waking up to super smooth stems in the morning.
You Are A Badass Every Day by Jen Sincero - Retail Value $20.00 (found here for $14.00)
I read the original You are a Badass book and really enjoyed it very much. I am not at all into self-help books but I found Jen to be really witty, smart, engaging, and very funny. This shorter and more concise book focuses on being a badass every single day by staying motivated and chasing your goals. It is a departure from the original book in that it is smaller and much less wordy, but fans of Sincero's work will love adding this to their collection.
Tea Forte Kati Cup - Retail Value $20.00 (found here for $15.00)
This little mug is SO heavy! Like most things from this brand, the quality s beyond great. This double-walled ceramic mug comes complete with a tea filter and a ceramic lid to use while steeping and keep your tea warm if you need to step away from your desk. It also functions as a holder for the strainer when you remove it. This lid sits in the top of the mug rather than seals it, so this is likely not a traveling sort of thing unless you are the most careful and well-balanced person around. I like the sort of retro pale green color on this tumbler and the RX design is quite clever and cute.
Tea Forte Loose Leaf Tea Canister - Retail Value $15.00
We also got some tea to use in our new tumbler! This tasty blend of gunpowder green tea and mint is somehow both calming and invigorating. I love a good green, but they can go bitter so quickly! My personal trick is to use water right before it actually starts to boil because then the temperature is hot enough to brew, but not so hot that the delicate green tea leaves go bitter. I enjoyed this tea with raw sugar right before bed, as I knew its low caffeine content would allow me to relax without keeping me awake.
RX Jump Rope - Listed Value $39.99
The listed value of this jump rope seemed a little insane until I looked up the brand and saw that they do indeed range in price between $25-125. Who knew jump ropes could be so fancy? I am not going to fib to you and say that I tried this. I didn't. I am not a graceful person and I don't do well bouncing in midair. What I can tell you is that it had a great weight in my hands and the rugged black 'rope' part seemed like it would last a really long time. I wish I was the type of fit girl to take full advantage of this tool, but instead, it will be going to one of my gym-rat friends.
Verdict: This box has a retail value of approximately $128.99. That is a great value for a $35.99 box, though a big chunk of that value is tied up in that pretty jump rope. Compared to last month, this box felt like CosmoBox all grown up! I loved the tumbler with the tea and the book that I enjoyed while curled on the couch sipping away. An RX bar is always a win for me because they are so tasty and guilt-free. The body butter felt like such a treat to my skin after a hot shower. This box felt really cohesive and well thought out, and very much like a higher quality lifestyle box. I really enjoy the direction of this sub so far and can't wait for next month.
