Elevita February 2019 Review

Elevita February 2019 - Bag

Once again, everything arrived in this lovely cotton drawstring bag! Such a nice bonus!

Elevita February 2019 - Booklet

This is the letter I received in my package this month, detailing the contents. I especially appreciate the detail it provides about the artisans who created this month's handicrafts. It gives it such a special, personal touch!

Bracelet, Philippines

Look at how pretty this bracelet is! The cord is rigid, not stretchy. I love the little key charm! I will definitely wear this. This was handmade by an artisan in the Philippines as a means of supporting herself and her young son.

Pouch, Cambodia

Every time I see a piece with this kind of embroidery and rich colors, I know it's from Cambodia! I love the deep purple and gold together. I just don't know what this pouch is for. Any guesses? It says essentials, but it is pretty small for that. This was handmade in Cambodia by a handicapped single mother.

Game, India

It's the peg game! I love this game! They have a less finely crafted version of it at every table at Cracker Barrel, and we used to play it on road trips when I was a kid and my family would stop in. I love the design and the impressive quality of this one! The pegs live inside a compartment in the base that is opened by a hinge on the side. My kids instantly dropped their devices and played this thing. I love it! This was handcrafted by disadvantaged woodworkers in India.

The Verdict: Elevita is awesome! I really appreciate everything they do to help global artisans, and I love feeling like I'm a part of that. This month's items were all great! Still wondering what that pouch is for, though... I can't often find values for the items Elevita sends, but I always feel like the value far outstrips the cost of the box. Thirty dollars for these lovely items is a steal!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, Sign up by the 18th to get the current month's box.

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $30 with free shipping, which means that each of the 3 items in the box has an average cost of $10.

I LOVE the bracelet. Does anyone know where I can purchase several of them?

My first thought for the pouch was tampons. I thought the makeup brushes/flatware comment was a great suggestion, too.

@AH Not sure what NSFW is or the real intent for this pouch but I put silverware utensils in it for my lunch. They fit perfectly. I also Wrap them in an extra napkin so I dont Soil the pouch afterwards.

AH

The pouch looks like it was made for a NSFW item ! Lol

The pouch could be used on-the-go for a few make-up brushes… or to put your silverware in for a packed lunch… or maybe as a pen/pencil pouch?

jenny

that pouch is obviously designed to hold your banana. 😊

I got this box. My pouch is black with gold embroidery. I had the same question you did, and concluded that it’s for whatever you put in it. I’ll probably use it for a tampon holder to stash in my purse, tbh. Those suckers love to fall out of my inner purse pocket and onto the at the most inconvenient times.
