Loot Crate Binge January 2019 - Box Review Front 1

Loot Crate
3.2 overall rating
221 Ratings | 79 Reviews

Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for geeks and gamers and collectors of all ages. Each month they include themed collectibles and shirts that are exclusive items/variants at the time of shipment.

January's theme was 'Binge' and had a bit of a different feel to it with franchises.

Please Note: This arrived pretty much on time (I'm just super late with the review) - we received it early-February. But, to track your subscription, they now have this handy-dandy shipping status page to help track down what's happening across crates.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

January 2019 Loot Crate Binge Review

Loot Crate Binge January 2019 - All Products 3

January's “Binge” theme features items from Black Mirror, Spongebob, Futurama, and Friends - I told you it was an odd mix!

The box converts into a tv screen and lets you use Loot Lens in the Loot Crate app to unlock some augmented reality if you're interested - again, I like the stuff they're doing with their boxes.

Here's what this augmented reality looks like (I could actually do it from my box picture!):

Video not working? Check it out here.

It's pretty cool! I did the nature walk one and it was a fun little extra.

It comes with a booklet that will detail the items in the box.

There is ever more augmented reality to be had this month!

Loot Crate Binge January 2019 - Pin 21

Black Mirror Pin - Value $5?

This month's pin is from Black Mirror and gives you a piece of the U.S.S. Callister. This is one of my favorite episodes (I actually really enjoy most of them, though).

Each month comes with digital comics through my all-time favorite app, Comixology. This month features issues #1 and #2 of Sabrina The Teenage Witch's new series.

Black Mirror Tee - Value $15?

I love a good black-on-black design, and for it to be from Black Mirror makes it doubly awesome. This shows off a little icon that represents one of Black Mirror's episodes - it even has the season and episode number underneath. I'm very much into this.

Friends Socks - Value $12?

This might be the most surprising item in the box in terms of a geeky franchise, simply because I wouldn't consider Friends to be a geeky franchise at all. That being said, I do love Friends - and specifically love Joey/Monica with the chicken on their head - so I can't act disappointed to see these.

Futurama Blind Box - Value $10-11 on Amazon

I collect statues and figures - so any box with a vinyl figure in it always sees me perk up. The January box features a Futurama Kidrobot figure. I got Fry, who did you get?

Spongebob Calendar - Value $10?

Lastly, keep track of the important dates in 2019 with this mini Spongebob Squarepants calendar.

Verdict: The franchises were a bit odd this month - but, honestly, it was pretty dead on for me, personally. I'm betting it's not the case with a lot of Looters out there. It'll be fun to see what their augmented reality stuff brings - and it was notably not that late this month...so, positive signs?

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, You’ll see the current them on the landing page – theme cutoffs are the 19th of each month at midnight EST.

COUPON – Save 10% off any length subscription, or $3 off month-to-month with coupon code ADDICTION or SAVE3

Thanks so much, Liz. She was with us for over 16 years, and we couldn’t have asked for a smarter, sweeter dog. As we have no children, she had a very special place in our hearts and our home.

We spent about 2 hours today looking at the photos I have managed to save from HD and iPhones and transferred over through the years ( yay for the Cloud, right?) and are thinking of buying a same- breed puppy soon, maybe.

I hope I’ll be buying puppy themed Dog Subscription Boxes soon.. That will be a new experience for me, as NO subscription boxes existed in 2002. 😉

Wow, this was Eric’s last review on MSA, at least with his name and photo as the author.

I hope he’s doing great and loving that darling little Buckles dude, who disappeared with him. 🙂

Eric has been focusing on coding some new features for MSA! And Buckles is helping 🙂

Oh, Liz, I am so happy for y’all, and so very glad that Buckles is doing well.
I lost my little dog, a puppy we rescued many years ago, this past weekend, so Buckles and the reviews Eric did with him were on my mind, especially.

My girl got many special treats over the years from sub boxes. She was a true foodie. ;).
Hugs to the busy Cadman family,

The status page is great and all but I’m still pussed that they just didn’t send the boxers last month and there was no explanation. Customer service basically shoulder shrugged and said they were behind but there is no status page for random items they didn’t include.

Ya same! On the status page I checked it said “on time” for the Loot Socks.. and I got an email that had said to expect delivery between Feb 22-Mar 2. Still waiting and when I emailed them they just referred me to the status page *rolls eyes*
