Margot Elena Spring 2019 Review
This box comes with a card detailing all of the items included. I am LIVING for the floral illustrations on this booklet.
We have so many pretty things to see.
Library of Flowers Shower Gel in True Vanilla, 2 fl oz - Estimated Value $5.50 (Buy a full size 8 fl oz here for $22.00)
Vanilla scents can be hit or miss, especially with so many overly sweet and artificial smelling versions out there. This gel gets it just right, not too sweet, but still sugary, warm, and floral. Vanilla comes from an orchid plant, so it should have a little bit of a flowery bite to it! This gel is very moisturizing but also leaves your skin feeling clean. It is a thicker formula, so a little goes a long way, especially on your favorite sponge or poof!
Library of Flowers Body Scrub in Willow & Water, 2 fl oz - Listed Value $5.50
There is something about this watery scent that triggers memories I just can't place. It smells like spring and water fountains in pools filled with blooming lilypads. It also has a current underneath of something more sophisticated, so don't be scared to try this if you normally lean away from such springy scents. This formula is super creamy and filled with little walnut shell pieces that gently exfoliate your skin.
Orange Blossom & Honey Face Mask, 2 oz - Retail Value $30.00
Gosh, everything in this box is so pretty! This peel has a soft scent of neroli blossoms mixed with creamy honey. Designed to be used as a bi-weekly peel/scrub, you leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then gently wash it away. It is filled with little speckles of dried blueberry that exfoliate your skin, and though it was a little bit of an effort to wash it away, that gave those blueberries time to do their magic and leave my skin feeling so smooth and calm. I generally avoid scrubs like this because I find them drying, but this one wasn't at all and I am thrilled to add it to my weekly routine.
Lollia This Moment Relaxing Eye Pillow - Retail Value $38.00
The amazing lavender scent of this eye pillow was the first thing that hit my nose when I opened my box. It is a blend of lavender and stimulating peppermint, though the mint is very mild and just gives the lavender a little complexity. The pillowcase itself is 100% cotton with a pretty texture. I love the screen printed botanical illustrations. The packaging comes with a little card you can write an intention on and then slide into the case. I imagine using this outside in the springtime, napping under my favorite tree in our backyard. Until then I can certainly use it for catnaps on the couch!
Lollia This Moment Perfumed Shower Gel, 8 fl oz - Retail Value $22.00
This Moment is a new scent from Margot and smells like water and sunshine, but very floral and a little green. Although it is a pretty sweet scent, it does have a base of amber which makes it a little more grown-up than my description makes it sound! It feels like those days right in-between spring and summer, where it is a little hot and a little chilly, but mostly sunny and filled with growing things. This shower gel is very similar in formula to the first one in this box, rich, thick, and cleansing.
Lollia This Moment Fine Foot Soak, 1.8 oz - Listed Value $8
I do love a foot soak. Again, Margot nails packaging in the form of this little stoppered test tube filled with perfumed salt crystals. These are also in the 'This Moment' scent, and though the smell is a little sharper straight out of the tube the scent is much more mellow when added to warm water.
The Cottage Greenhouse Carrot & Neroli Shea Butter Handcreme, 4 oz - Retail Value $24.00 (Currently sold out!)
Blame Oprah for this item being out of stock. It made her Favorite Things list! The fragrance is pure neroli with a green base. I can't tell if there is a carrot smell in there or if it is just my imagination. I love scents like this that are light and sunny, and layer well with the perfume I wear daily without making me, well, TOO smelly. The carrot oil paired with the base of shea is incredibly moisturizing and this cream absorbs easily without leaving behind greasiness.
Library of Flowers Perfumed Bath Oil, 8 fl oz - Listed Value $24.00
This bottle is so pretty! If I saw this in someone's bathroom I would think they were, like, super fancy. and now since it goes in my bathroom I am the fancy one! This formula is really not so much oil as it is a water blend with glycerine and fragrance, meaning it absorbs very easily! The glycerine seals in moisture and it leaves my skin softly scented. I plan on using it as a little extra boost of hydration after a shower or bath. The Linden scent is a strong honey to my nose, with a backdrop of blooming bulb flowers.
Tokyomilk Rose Water Bon BonLip Balm - Retail Value $10.00
I have bought this product before and loved it! The balm feels like pure velvet and the delicate rose scent is noticeable, but not overpowering. The pretty gold lidded glass pot is beautiful on a vanity or in my purse. It makes a great base for your fave lipstick.
Tokyomilk Honey & The Moon Travel Candle, 4 oz - Retail Value $12.00 (Currently sold out)
I am immediately drawn to the pretty bee illustration that graces this tin. The candle itself smells like honey with a little sugar, flowers, and woods. It is a soy wax, meaning it burns cleanly and evenly. Though this is a travel candle, I don't see it lasting long enough to leave my mantle!
Margot Elena Hand-Lettered Greeting Card with Gold Foil - Listed Value $5.00
Magot Elena designed this hand-lettered card and each letter has such pretty flower accents and metallic lines. This card would be a beautiful sentiment to send to someone who is going through a personal change or major life event and needs a little encouragement, that change often means growth!
Margot Elena Hand-Lettered Print with Gold Foil - Listed Value $22.00
We also received a large art print of the same illustration. I tend to really like things like this and plan on framing it for my home as a gentle reminder to be open to change! I think it will be so pretty matted in a gilded thin gold frame.
Verdict: This is one of those boxes with an unboxing experience that even exceeds the product inside. Every single thing in it is gorgeously packaged and presented and feels very special. Even if some of the scents are not quite 'you', anything from this box would make a beautiful and thoughtful gift. I especially enjoyed the incredibly unique scents, particularly the Linden bath oil, neroli and orange hand cream, and the new 'This Moment' items. The eye pillow feels so luxurious and is a great addition to a pampered evening in. I can never have enough shower gel, so I was excited to get two variations this round, along with a body scrub. I appreciated how this box also included a few home items, such as the candle, card and art print. This box has a value of at least $200, meaning it is an incredible value for a $49 box, especially if you already love the Margot Elena brand!
