March 2019 MoonBox “Transcending” Review
The first card MoonBox provides is a helpful survey that allows you to take a moment to write down your intentions this moon cycle, plan how to take action on said intentions and what to leave behind and learn from this phase.
The second insert describes the featured items included in the box, as well as instructions on how they should be used. It also gives a general overview of the major cosmic events happening this month. This month has a New Moon in Pisces, and what a coincidence, Mercury is BACK in retrograde. Woof! No wonder my head is feeling a bit foggy.. This month’s Transcend theme is a reminder that at times like these, when it may be easier to run, one should take a moment to look inside instead and create that inner dialogue. Transcendence is all about casting out the old and welcoming the newness that blossoms from this month’s transformation. Embrace it!
Cosmic Collage Moon Calendar
Each box comes with a colorful woven mat that acts as a lunar and astrological calendar for the month. The focus of this March mat is Pisces, a compassionate and dreamy sign symbolized by two fish. This vivid mat would look great used as a decorative calendar or as a respite for your new crystals.
Crushed with Love Chapstick Duo - Estimated Value $5
Lip balms are the most useful items found in subscription boxes, and this month’s Moonbox came with two! New Moon and Full Moon chapsticks are perfect to “seal your intentions with a kiss!” I really like this vegan formula, very moisturizing and not waxy. The New Moon balm is a fruity blend, and the Full Moon stick is peppermint, and both leave you with comfortably soft lips. I couldn’t find either of these online, but I linked to Crushed with Love’s website, which looks like it is just set up for bulk orders right now.
Frequency Positivity Essential Oil - Retail Value $9.99
Moonbox refers to this blend of essential oils as a “Retrograde Rescue,” which may be the perfect way to describe this mix. It is citrusy with a hint of peppermint, and you just need one drop to lift your spirit. When you pick this oil up, you can hear the golden jade stones tinkering around in the glass bottle, which is a simple pleasure that I really enjoy. This is safe to apply to your skin and use in a diffuser, too.
Lizush Bath Bomb in a Tube - Estimated Value $6
Here is another product I couldn’t find online, but also linked the company’s website. This tube of bath bomb didn’t have the fizz that your everyday bomb has, but I liked the eucalyptus scent and skin softening Epsom salts. The colors stained my tub a little, but it came right off with a quick wipe & rinse.
Soapy Layne Floral Facial Steam, .5oz - Estimated Value $4.50, Buy a 4oz bottle for $18
I’ve never done a facial steam before, so I was excited to see this item! The instructions say to add a small amount of this wild flower blend in a large bowl, then fill that bowl with hot water, making sure it is at a comfortable temperature to breathe in. Drape a towel over your head and breathe in the relaxing, subtly floral steam. I made sure to take deep breaths in and out, and I also did this steam after washing my face and before skincare, so I could get the benefit of the steam into my pores. I loved the whole ritual to this, and I think I found a new me-time step to treat myself to!
And now, the March crystal picks!
Fluorite for clarity, organization and purification, place on Throat Chakra
The perfect addition to any crystal collection, especially during Mercury retrograde! Cluttered thoughts and negative emotions step aside!
Amethyst Point for sweet dreams and protection, place on Third Eye
For someone who has trouble sleeping off and on, I was relieved to see this crystal in this month’s box. This stone offers tranquility and helps to draw out emotions to set out to the world, perfect for Pisces season!
Blue Tigers Eye for unlocking creative expression & communication, place on Root or Throat Chakra
This stress-relieving stone is great for brightening the mind and releasing negative energy, replacing it with positive vibes and creativity.
Opalite Egg - For transformation, breaking down of illusions, welcoming visions and turning a new page, place on an altar or Sacred Space that reminds you are transforming, place on Crown Chakra
Forget all of the other crystals, this is the one. I am obsessed! Nothing makes me happier than opal, so I am just living for this egg, and it couldn’t have come at a better time in my life. Lots of changes happening in the household can bring on new anxieties and false impressions.. I am hoping that this egg will help to turn the page positively and help me welcome the new and unfamiliar! The little egg rest did not come with this box; it actually came in a Real Techniques Brush Set with one of their Miracle Sponges, but I think it was actually made for this stone!
The Verdict: Gaia MoonBox's March theme of Transcending was a major hit for me. The self-care items came at the perfect time, making this week’s me-time extra meaningful and relaxing. The Opalite Egg is my very favorite crystal that I never knew I needed, and I love reading the comprehensive info cards that Gaia Moonbox sends out each month, too. All in all, another fantastic month!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $34.00 + $2.00 shipping, which means that each of the 9 items in the box (counting each crystal individually & each chapstick individually) has an average cost of $4. I think that is an awesome price for what we received this month.
