Stitch Fix is a monthly clothing and styling subscription service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences. After choosing when you'd like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks 5 items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Stitch Fix may be completely different!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Stitch Fix for Women March 2019 Review

This is the invoice that was sent in the box. As you can see, it provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items. My total came to $276, but with the 25% off (which they take off BEFORE deducting the $20!) and the $20 credit, my total drops down to $187. That’s a savings of $89 on these items.

This is my style sheet that includes a note from my stylist and features the five items I received along with different outfit suggestions and accessories that might pair well with them. This month my fix comes from Kacey and I think she completely nailed my style this month! In my note, I requested a denim jacket, and it looks like she was able to send me one.

Democracy Parisa Skinny Jean, Size 12 - Cost to Keep $68

I think this is the third month in a row that I have been sent a pair of jeans. I didn't bother requesting that they not send me jeans because I thought it would be unlikely that they would send me a third pair since I sent the last two back. I think since my stylist keeps changing each month, this might be one of those little oversights on their part! Fortunately, these jeans are great so I am actually not too bothered by it! They look just like regular jeans and even have front pockets, a button, and zipper, but the inside waistband is elastic and has this nice non-slip band around the top. They are super comfortable and the length is great. You'll be able to see these on me with the next few items!

August Mist Josey Elbow Patch Pullover - Cost to Keep $46

I love this sweater! The color is amazing and that weave on the bodice of the sweater is so pretty and interesting. I really like the rounded hemline and how it is longer in the back. I think those elbow patches are really on trend, too! I do think that it feels a bit short for my torso in the front and as much as I love that weave, it's a little loose so you can see through the gaps at spots. Which is no big deal, but it means I'd probably have to wear a cami underneath. I do have the Democracy jeans on here and you can see they are the perfect length going into spring and warmer weather!

Market & Spruce - Zansia Curved Hem Knit Top, Size L - Cost to Keep $58

This simple shirt is exactly my style! It is soft, long, comfortable and features my favorite pattern of stripes. You can see in that last picture that it is actually fairly thick and not just a basic tee shirt material. It feels like such nice quality and I love that it is long enough to be paired with leggings or jeans. I was surprised at how you could see through it a little when it was on though even though the material is so nice and thick.

Mason & Belle Kinglake Mixed Material Top, Size L - Cost to Keep $36

Finally, a spring top that looks like one of the super cute tops they've been advertising everywhere! I was excited to see this in my fix this month, but a little disappointed at how it fit me, but I think I'll try to make it work anyway. I love the colors and the beautiful floral pattern but since it is a mixed-media top, it's a bit snug at the bust because that bottom panel has no stretch to it.

Here is a close-up of the fabric. You can see it's a bit sheer at the bottom, but I don't think it's that noticeable once it's on so I might be able to get away with no cami underneath. This cute shirt has me ready for spring for sure!

Prosperity Jolene Denim Jacket, size L - Cost to Keep $68

My only request for this fix was for a denim jacket. I asked for one that was either a dark or light wash as opposed to medium and this is what my stylist sent. I liked that this jacket had minimal distressing and that it had some stretch to it. It's a nice fit in the arms, but it felt a little short on me at the waist, but I think that's just because I'm not used to wearing denim jackets! While this is a dark wash, it's actually a little more black in color and I was hoping for one a little closer to blue.

Overall, this was a nice jacket, but I think I have to maybe search for one in a store until I can figure out the right color and length for me. I do know that whatever I find is going to look nice paired with my floral top though!

The Verdict: This month's Stitch Fix really nailed my style and I think that so many of the pieces were on trend as well as comfortable. As usual, the convenience of this service is amazing and it's so exciting to have someone else pick out clothes for you. I love being able to try everything on in the comfort of my own home while also being able to mix and match with items I already own to see how they work together. As long as you find at least one item you love so that you don't lose your styling fee, then it's totally worth it. I'm excited that I may have finally found a stylist who gets my style and I really hope next month is just as good!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $276. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all 5 items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the box is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $187. That’s a discount of around 32% for these items.

Democracy jeans are one of my favorites. They look great on you. Old Navy has a lot of cute jean jackets, you should check them out.

Thanks Katie! I actually did just try them at Old Navy but the material was a lot stiffer and didn’t have any stretch to it like the StitchFix one. I know that’s how they are supposed to be, but I’m thinking maybe I’m just not good at Jean jackets! Lol

I love Democracy jeans! I discovered the brand when working in an apparel department of a major department store and have been hooked since. They really are designed with little tricks to flatter the figure. They look fantastic on you! Keepers for sure! 👍

I’m getting my first fix next week. I was a stitch fix addict for years so I’m excited. I love that shirt with the elbow pads.

If they aren’t able to send them to you, try looking up Democracy Absolution jeans and you might be able to find them online! 🙂 I was only able to come up with petite sizes when I searched before though but you might have better luck!

I tried stitch fix this February and I really disliked it. They should waive the first month styling fee until they can accurately identify your style. It was a waste of 20$ to receive items that were ill fitted and to the preference of the person choosing the items.
Idk maybe they should let you approve the items before they are sent to you.

I agree about the stylist. This is my second order and usually send back 3 items. The other items are really expensive.

Trunk Club allows you to view your items before they send them. That may be a better option for you. Over all, though, I’ve had the best results from Wantable (both the style and fitness boxes).

Hi Greygrrl, you should definitely reach out to customer service! They are usually pretty responsive and might be willing to work with you if you aren’t happy with your fix!

This exact reason is why I switched to Gwynnie Bee’s service. I can choose the things I like, and buy them if I like them once I try them on. I don’t feel trapped with ‘maybe’ items at $50+ each. I’m enjoying it much more, and I find the value is there for me. I tried stitch fix for 7 months without a stylist getting it right.
