Bless Box "Pot O' Gold" March 2019 Review
It looks like the Bless Box is staying green, with the full magazine being online rather than included in the box. You can check out the info book here.
Rodial Vitamin C Brightening Mask, 0.7 oz – Retail Value $55
Luxe skincare that is worth more than the cost of the box? Yes, please! This is my first time trying Rodial, and this mask is made with 5% pure vitamin C and 10% AHA to even and brighten your skin tone. This is a mask that tingled as I wore it. I was prepared to take it off before the 15 minutes were up if it started burning, but luckily that didn’t happen. When I washed it off, I definitely thought my skin looked a bit brighter, and I was impressed that there wasn’t any additional redness in my skin.
Dermala Patch Me (If You Can) Targeted Pimple Patches, 36 patches – Retail Value $9.99
These hydrocolloid patches do a great job of drying up any pimples that you want to pop, and I like that we received a set of 36 patches. I will say, though, there isn’t anything about these that makes them stand out against other pimple patches.
Manna Kadar Liplocked Priming Lip Wand in Crème, Full-Size! Retail Value $24
Oh, Manna Kadar - I think we can all agree we are ready for this brand to take a break from appearing in subscription boxes. This lip wand has a built-in primer to help lips stay smooth, and the color Crème is described as a soft tea rose. The shade is a nude pink, and it is comfortable to wear.
Here it is swatched.
William Roam Sense Shower Gel, 1.5 oz – Estimated Value $2.60 (buy a set of 25 travel-sized products here for $64.97)
I have never heard of the brand Wiliam Roam before, and I think a big aspect of their business model is supplying toiletries to hotels. This shower gel is a blend of various botanical extracts and Minnesota Tamarack Larch Tree extract. It smells fresh and uplifting.
William Roam Sense Lotion, 1.5 oz - Estimated Value $2.60 (buy a set of 25 travel-sized products here for $64.97)
This has the same scent as the shower gel, and it is moisturizing without being heavy. Dispensing this lotion was a bit difficult. You can’t really squeeze the container, so to get it out I just had to smack it repeatedly into my hand. I like the scent, though.
Bless Custom Pearl Hair Pins – Listed Value $18.99
Pearled hair clips and barrettes are having a big moment on Instagram, so I wasn’t surprised to see these trendy bobby pins. I am not sure how I am going to rock them yet, but these are well-made and they are pretty to look at.
Yes To Coconuts Frothe Mousse Mask Energizing Coffee Latte with Coconut Milk, 2 oz – Retail Value $15.99
This is made with coconut extract, coconut milk, caffeine, and coffee extract. It smells just like coconut with a hint of coffee, and it was energizing just to smell. I really liked the texture of this mask. Somehow it really is a mousse, so it was fun to apply to my face. I appreciate the way this mask is packaged, too--it's enough for multiple applications, and the nozzle makes it easy to dispense without making a mess or contaminating the remaining mask.
Hippeas Vegan White Cheddar, 1.5 oz – Estimated Value $1.66 (buy a 12-pack here for $19.99)
These snacks are tasty. They have a nice crunch that is reminiscent of Cheeto puffs, and they have a light white cheddar taste even though they're vegan. This bag contains 5 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein, so they have a lot more nutritional benefit than a regular bag of chips, too.
House of Lashes Serene Lite Lashes – Retail Value $12
Each month we receive a “bonus” item that has come in a previous box. While I don’t understand it, I have been subscribing long enough to accept it. I don’t wear fake lashes often, but I like having them around. This pair is wispy and not too dramatic. I like the flirty touch these can add to my overall look.
The Verdict: The winners in the box this month, for me, were the face masks. As a whole, I am okay with this box. I would be happier if Manna Kadar wasn’t in this box, but I do appreciate the trendy inclusion of the hairpins and the tasty snacks. Using a combination of actual and estimated retail values, this box has a total retail value of $142.83. I think that is a good deal for a box that costs less than $40.
