Coastal Co. Spring 2019 Review
When you first go to sign up for Coastal Co., you'll be met with a short survey to let them know your sizing and physical features so they can send the perfect items for you. They also take your location/climate into account when selecting items.
Complexion, face shape, top size, bra (cup) size, waist size, ring size, and shoe size will all go into your profile.
Their info card right has a lovely sunshine + palm tree photo on one side and a short intro with the items and their prices on the other side.
Saltwater Luxe Pipa Coverup, O/S - Listed Value $75.00
This first item of the Spring box is this ultra appropriate floral coverup. It's 100% rayon and really lightweight so it's perfect to add a little touch of soft color to my otherwise neutral wardrobe. I can wear this as the temperature starts to warm up one I ditch my heavier jackets. This piece is exclusive to Coastal Co so it can't be found on their site although there are other items with the same pretty print. It's not sized but when laid flat measures about 22 inches across and 31 inches from neck to bottom hem. I'm 5'3" and wear a women's medium top/size 29 waist jeans and it's quite roomy on me. There's no included belt but you can certainly use one to add more of a shape to this flowy number. If you find yourself at the beach, you can also use this as a coverup to protect your shoulders from the hot sun while looking chic. (There's a photo of me modeling this at the bottom of the review.)
Vagabond Goods Bali Palm Bikini Bag - Estimated Value $28.00 (Similar here)
They call this 9.5 x 7.5-inch pouch a "bikini bag" since you can toss your wet swimsuit in this lined palm-print case to safely transport. Since I'm not a huge swimmer, I'll be calling it a makeup or toiletries pouch! There's a ton of space to fit my beauty routine for a trip and since it's meant for wet items, an accidental spill shouldn't be an issue. The palm pattern has a bright watercolor vibe with blues, greens, and pinks that awakens me from my Winter hibernation.
Kolohe Make Waves Ring - Retail Value $30.00
If I'm going to wear jewelry, it's usually a ring. A minimal, silver ring at that, so this is perfect for me. It's made of fine silver which won't turn your finger green and is handmade in Hawaii by Rose Wong and her sisters. This simple ring features a single wave gracing your finger and happens to be adjustable to fit sizes 5-8. It is quite bendable and delicate though, so I"ll be sure to treat it as such.
Chaser Island Vibes Tank, size medium - Listed Value $48.00 (Similar here)
Winter's box brought us a soft sweatshirt while Springtime brings this soft navy blue tank from Chaser. This one is also exclusive to the box so you can't find the "Island Vibes" Pineapple graphic anywhere else. It's made in the USA of 100% cotton and has a looser fit which appeals to me rather than a tight fitted tank. My other favorite part- there's no irritating tag at the neck, just the printed brand name, and size info. The graphic isn't really my taste, but this could easily become a sleep shirt if I don't pass it on to a friend.
Laguna Salt Company Hand Crafted Sea Salt "Paradise Duo" - Listed Value $19.00
Laguna Salt Company Hawaiian Black Sea Salt, 3 oz. - Buy 2 oz. for $6.49
Oh my, yes. I love Laguna Salt Company! They make the greatest salts with fun infusions and blends. This one is a "combination of solar evaporated Pacific sea salt and activated charcoal". The charcoal apparently "brings out the natural salt flavor and adds nutritional value", but more importantly looks really cool and goth. 😀 Like charcoal toothpaste, this salt will leave black powder in its path but the coarse chunks of salt taste so delicious. I am a big salt fan if you can't tell, so I'm excited to use this in recipes to make everything look a little cooler. I'm thinking that this will come in handy for Halloween recipes!
Laguna Salt Company Sweet Hibiscus Sea Salt, 3 oz. - Buy 2 oz. for $6.95
I've actually had this variety before and I simply adore its subtly floral hibiscus scent. I don't taste the hibiscus as much as I thought I would, but its beautiful lavender pink color will spruce up boring looking dishes!
Havaianas Slim Flip Flops in Rose Gold - Retail Value $26.00
One of the most exciting items for me are these Havaianas flip flops. I already own a grey pair and always feel the need to have them on hand in the summer. They essentially become my "summer slippers" while I'm in my house or even while I'm out running errands when it's just too hot for shoes! The pair they've sent are rose gold and I have to admit I am enjoying. Since you provide your shoe size when signing up, these actually fit instead some boxes that send one size fits all type items that may or may not actually fit. They're airy and light so they're perfect for warm weather and are honestly the most comfortable flip flops eve due to their soft cushiony soles. Great item!
Cocovit Coconut Water Hydro-Mist - Retail Value $16.00
The final item in this delivery is a 1-ounce bottle of Cocovit's coconut water hydro-mist. A wonderful way to refresh your face during a long day with hydrating and amazing-smelling coconut! Made with coconut water, witch hazel, aloe vera, and cocovít coconut oil, along with dead sea salt and honeysuckle flower extract, this mist is ridiculously luxurious feeling. While it's great to use as a toner after cleansing, I think I'll be keeping this at my desk at work as a little 3 pm pick-me-up! If you love coconut, this is the face mist for you!
Here I am rocking the coverup over a simple camisole with my new flip flops! Dinner on the lanai, perhaps?
Verdict: Coastal Co. has sent yet another beautifully curated box that brings the vibes of the beach without having to be physically near the sun or sand. They always deliver great brands large and small that make quality goods and have a great value for the cost of the box. This time around, I received seven items that have a total retail value of $242!! That's more than double the $103.95 cost. My faves are the coconut water hydro-mist, coverup, flip flops, and salt, but everything in this quarterly box is pretty stellar. Highly recommended for beach lovers or those who wish they could be closer to a tropical location all year round.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, although yours may be different than mine based on your preferences and location.
