Nadine West April 2019 Review
This is the invoice that arrived with my package this month. The box was comped, so the prices of the items have been struck through, but you can see what the cost to keep each item would have been.
Feather Weather Necklace - Cost to Keep $21.99
Feathers are an iconic symbol of the boho aesthetic, so I am always happy when one shows up in a subscription box. That's my style! I think this necklace is pretty, and it's my most preferred length. I also think the varying metal tones make it a little more visually interesting.
Feather Weather Earrings - Cost to Keep $12.99
More feathers! Hooray! I don't think I would actually wear both the necklace and the earrings together, but they both stand on their own quite well. These are purely gold-toned, but I like that. I think they're really cute and they are a good size. Plus the price is right!
Claide Scarf - Cost to Keep $16.99
This is such a pretty scarf for spring! I love the colors and the romantic print. It's a very lightweight cotton, so I think I might just be able to get one or two uses out of it before it gets too hot here in Georgia.
Sabrina Top - Cost to Keep $22.99
This cotton knit blend tee is what I consider an ideal basic tee. It fits well and is a good cut for my body shape. I don't always love color blocking, but in this case, I quite like the black to gray to white color scheme. I can see myself wearing this a lot this spring and summer.
Alyvia Leggings - Cost to Keep $25.49
These leggings are also really cute and basic. They are nice and stretchy, but they have a natural fiber feel, which I prefer. They are completely opaque. I also think they go with the tee pretty well. I don't have anything like them, which is always exciting for me!
Eloise Dress - Cost to Keep $29.99
I love this dress! It is a synthetic blend with a good amount of stretch, but the A-line cut means that not much stretching of the fabric is required. The color is awesome, and I am loving the stripes and floral trend this spring! I also think the keyhole at the neckline adds visual interest without being suggestive. I like that!
Meghan Top - Cost to Keep $25.99
This is a really unusual top. It's a synthetic blend, and the fabric is a bit sheer. I like the print, but it seems to be painted on rather than embroidered or printed on the fabric. It has that plastic-y feel of fabric paint or an iron-on decoration. I think the cut is flattering, and it looks pretty cute on. I'm just not sure how much I would wear it.
Cheyenne Top - Cost to Keep $30.49
This cotton blend knit top feels so good and looked so pretty on the hanger, but it just does not look that good on me, unfortunately. I love the color and the print but on my skin tone it kind of looks like I am from the Land of the Undead. I love the tabbed sleeves! But, the top also has side ruching, which generally isn't very flattering on me. For the ruching to have the desired effect, the top is actually a little big on me, so the effect is that it just drops below my hip line and is generally unflattering.
The Verdict: I love Nadine West! My favorites this month are the dress and the black and white outfit. There were a few misses, but that is to be expected. I am also really happy they have started sending more pieces. More pieces mean more choices! I think if you want to treat yourself to a styling service on a budget, Nadine West is the way to go! Their pieces are not always the highest quality, but they are consistently the least expensive.
