Pet Treater Cat Pack April 2019 Review
I sometimes find the dog version of Pet Treater a little bit random but the cat version (maybe because it is smaller) is often a little more focused:
There’s not a traditional information card with this subscription, but you get a couple of inserts including a humorous sticker. Sometimes there is also product literature.
Sprout Pods Cat Grass
I spent a while looking for this online but I guess the brand name was too generic to actually find this item for sale. Monkey and Mr. Kitty both like cat grass, though, and you can grow quite a lot at once with this (and even if the seeds are old or something, I have an excess of cat grass seeds at home I can use in the tray).
Penn Plax Cat Life Cat Toy, Calico Bee and Fly Asst.
I have received this same toy in the past from Pet Treater but my cats don’t know that. This has various textures (fuzzy, fabric, etc.) that my cats seem to be pretty interested in, and it also has a rattle inside (so it has been put in the home office for Angus to enjoy at night, so as not to wake us up at 2 AM). Most of the cats expressed some interest in this. I can only find a listing on Walmart’s marketplace site where it says these go for $23. One of these is certainly not $23 but it is unclear how many the listing was for, so I have opted not to provide a price. This is probably a closeout item.
So Bright Freeze Dried Salmon (0.71 oz) – Retail Value $3.29 (found on sale here for $2.99)
Freeze dried meat is hit or miss with my crew. Madison was unwilling to even sniff this. Monkey licked it and decided he didn’t want it. Sneaky, however, was a fan. (Monkey and Madison generally like fish, for what it’s worth.)
Here are some cat photos for you:
Angus can’t have treats but he seemed interested in the toy.
Madison did not want the treats but he was willing to inspect the toy.
Monkey wanted to rub his face on the toy. He did not actually eat the treat.
Sneaky liked the treats just fine.
Mr. Kitty had no idea what was going on. He wanted to go back to napping.
Verdict: I was unable to calculate a total value for the April 2019 Pet Treater Cat Pack since I had trouble finding two of the three items online. The cat grass will be a hit eventually, it just takes 10 days to grow so there is nothing to show for that yet. The treats were not a huge hit but Sneaky will eat them. The toy was pretty well-liked, though.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you’d receive May’s package as your first shipment. Also, there may be some variation among boxes sent during the same month.
Value Breakdown: At $15 per month for this subscription, you are paying approximately $5 per item.
