Stitch Fix is a monthly clothing and styling subscription service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences. After choosing when you'd like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks 5 items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Stitch Fix may be completely different!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Stitch Fix for Women April 2019 Review

This is the invoice that was sent in the box. As you can see, it provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items. My total came to $194, but with the 25% off (which they take off BEFORE deducting the $20!) and the $20 credit, my total drops down to $125.50. That’s a savings of $68.50 on these items.

This is my style sheet that includes a note from my stylist and features the five items I received along with different outfit suggestions and accessories that might pair well with them. This is my second fix from stylist Kacey and after over a year of doing StitchFix, I think I've finally found the one! She actually referenced my Pinterest board, which is awesome, and she totally delivered on the crossbody purse I had requested in my note!

Pink Clover Daisee Button Back Detail Knit Top, Size L - Cost to Keep $34

I do not have a lot of yellow in my wardrobe so this shirt was a nice surprise! I think the mustard yellow color is perfect for spring and I don't think it's too terrible with my coloring. This is pretty much just a basic tee, but a bit thicker and so soft, and then it has those fun buttons on the back. I love all things stripes, so this definitely suits my style and also takes me a bit outside of my comfort zone with the color!

Pink Clover Madelene Roll Tab Knit Top, Size L - Cost to Keep $48

I really love this shirt! I love the green color of the sleeves and the fun brown suede details on the straps. While it looks like the sleeves roll down all the way, I think it is more for style because they didn't quite reach the ends of my arms when I unrolled them. This shirt is definitely my style and again, it is really soft and comfortable, which seems to be the case most of the time with this brand. I also love how long this top is!

Pink Clover Chip Elbow Patch Knit Top, Size L - Cost to Keep $38

This is the last Pink Clover top in my fix and this one is the softest yet! It is a bit thicker than the other two and I think it is more of a fall/winter top, so I did something super bold and exchanged it for a size medium in hopes that next fall, it will be a perfect fit! It does fit a little larger than the other tops anyway, so I don't think it will be an issue. The stripes are super cute and I love the colors in this one. The gray and white stripes are something I gravitate towards almost always when shopping, and then that robin's egg blue is such a nice pop of color! My husband said he doesn't like the elbow patches, but I think they are on trend and pretty cute and unoffensive.

Here is a closeup of the sleeves. I love that the hem features the striped pattern again!

Kaileigh Rossano V-Neck Top, Size L - Cost to Keep $36

I really do love my florals, even though others might be growing tired of the trend, I still can't get enough! This top is a bit stiffer in the fit and I don't know if it is the most flattering on me, but I love that it can easily be worn as a casual top or dressed up for a special occasion. It is comfortable, although a bit sheer, but I think as long as I am wearing a dark bra, it would be okay. I like the little seam down the back which breaks up the pattern a bit, too. It sort of looks like a nurse's scrub top to me in the photos here, but I think that wearing it with some cute shorts once its warm will help change that!

Urban Expressions Aleda Wallet Clutch - Cost to Keep $38

This last item is what I requested in my note- a cute crossbody purse and this one could not be more perfect. I love gold so a purse with gold hardware is definitely my preference and I love the natural look of the brown faux leather. This clutch also goes really well with each of the tops I received, so I am pretty happy with it!

I love the dark floral fabric inside of this, it was a nice surprise and great contrast for the plain faux leather exterior. It features a pocket underneath the flap as well as a zipper closure that opens up to reveal several card slots and an interior zipper, which is a must for me. It's not huge, but it fits the essentials that I need, and for me, one thing I've been looking for lately is something small that I can fit inside our diaper bag, and this definitely fits the bill!

I love that the crossbody strap length can be adjusted and that I can take it off if I want to wear it as a clutch instead.

The Verdict: I was so excited about everything in my Stitch Fix this month and I am thrilled to find a stylist who actually gets my style and listens to what I want and need. It was so refreshing and exciting to feel like I finally got a box full of items for me instead of just one or two things. Since it's my birthday month, I decided to live by the philosophy of "treat yo' self" and kept everything! The discount was too good to pass up and this month everything was really budget-friendly, so it made sense to take advantage of it. As always, the convenience of this service is great and finally, I can attest to the fact that my stylist was listening to me. Looks like I need to go update my Pinterest board for some great summer picks next month!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $194. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all 5 items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the box is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $125.50. That’s a discount of around 35% for these items.

While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

We have similar coloring, and dark colors (think jewel tones) look the best on me. My most flattering colors are navy blue, crimson, purple, plum, dark teal, dark green, black, and white. I think these would look beautiful on you too.

The best of these Stitch Fix items is the black floral top. It’s sophisticated, and the color works for you!

Happy Birthday! Everything looks really cute on you. Love the yellow. I think I might have to hunt down that bag too.

Brandi I am loving your complexion in the yellow dandelion color top. I hold a serious envy for those that can wear yellow. I’ve tried every shade under the sun and I look like I’ve got jaundice every single time. 😒
I unfortunately have to agree with your husband on the elbow patches though… I don’t know if it’s the angle in the photo or what but something just looked a little odd. Maybe they are thick and physically stick out a bit much for my taste? Otherwise it’s adorable!
Then again I think you usually look adorable, even though you can wear yellow and I can’t🤣

Aww thanks so much, Jennifer Jo! I wasn’t sure I could pull off yellow so I appreciate the feedback – maybe you look better in yellow than you think, too? 😊 And I think it’s that elbow patches aren’t sewn down at the edges that make them stand out so much! My husband will get a kick out of you agreeing with him! Lol

I don’t think the items are over priced, I guess it depends on who you ask. If you shop in the department stores or Buckle or Loft or something that’s a great price! I think they all look super cute! I would keep it all too!

I totally agree. Stitch Fix items are way above the quality of Target and last much longer. It’s like shopping at a department store, Macy’s or such. The fabric, stitching, construction are much better with most Stitch Fix brands. I do find the plus-sized items I receive to be more expensive than the regular sized items reviewers get, but then the styles are different, too.

Thanks for reading, everyone! 🙂 I guess I should have clarified that when I said “budget-friendly” this was more in the realm of online shopping services like this one! Lol. The shirts were definitely a bit of a splurge for me, but with the discount the tops came to about $25 per piece and that’s pretty in line with what cute tops from Target retail for before going on sale. I did think the quality was just a bit better with these tops though and for some reason I feel like the fit of these was more comfortable! I love all of the comments & thanks for the birthday wishes! 😉

I do strictly clothes and have the cheapest price point picked for everything and my tote was $400 yesterday!! Grant it she went over on my price point for pretty much everything but it would be nice to get some cheaper clothes. I do love my stylist and she gets me out of my comfort zone often.

Happy Birthday Month!

I’m so glad that you finally got a stylist that “gets you”! It’s so much different than your other boxes, and much more budget-friendly.

I do sadly have to agree just a little with other comments that these seem to be a tad overpriced (at almost $30 per item) BUT I think there is huge value in getting boutique items at a discount, and not having to spend time scouring the internet or if you just don’t have time to shop!

Love that floral top! My stylist just did a great job with styling me with some florals too!

Brandi, I really like all of your clothes and happy birthday! With all of the discounts, she only spent 125.50 for 5 items. That seems pretty reasonable to me. I have to drive out pretty far to reach decent stores and Stitch Fix helps me save time and money.

plus the $20 styling fee. Still pretty reasonable, debating on the quality of the clothes sent. I don’t ever have time to shop so these can be exciting

While the shirts are really cute on you they are severely overpriced. In this day and age unless you don’t have access to the internet you could buy these shirts or very similar online for much less.

I love those style of tees…but not at $48!!! I just bought a real cute baseball tee with stripes at Target for $6.98 but I guess you have to pay a lot more if you don’t want to leave the house!
