BookCase.Club for Kids April 2019 Review
Blaze and the Monster Machines: Blazing Shapes! by Random House - Retail Value $6.99
My kids are familiar with a lot of popular characters, but this is a new one for them. Although they aren't familiar with Blaze, the idea of a book about trucks definitely appealed to my son. I think this is a fun way to learn or reinforce the names of shapes and also teach kids how to identify shapes in the objects around them. The pages are bright and colorful and this is one of those books my son can sit and look at independently, which he loves to do!
Shimmer and Shine: 123 Tea! by Random House - Retail Value $6.99
My daughter loves Shimmer and Shine and although I don't think she has ever watched it before, she has seen these characters around enough to be excited about this book! This one involves counting items at a tea party, and while it is a bit simple for her (she's four) I think this will be a good beginning reader for her! For now, she just enjoys the novelty of having a familiar character book.
Fisher Price Lift-a-Flap Look & Find: E is for Elephant by Kathy Broderick - List Price $10.98
This book is the cutest! The Fisher-Price characters are familiar to us thanks to all of the baby gear that we've acquired over the years. This book features fun animal cutouts at the top for each page plus several fun flaps throughout. There are several items to look for on each page with lots of vibrant, colorful images that will provide a lot of visual stimulation for any age!
Verdict: This month the books from BookCase.Club were perfect for my kids. All three of them had their own book that they immediately took to. This subscription always feels a bit random to me, but we are usually pretty happy with the books we receive and the value is always great. This subscription is relatively inexpensive at $14.99 ($9.99 + $5.00 shipping) and the total value of the books we received is $24.96 which is pretty good!
