Cat Claws Club is a bimonthly subscription box for cats filled with lots of toys, treats, and other surprises. (They just use whatever box will fit the items, so it varies from month to month, hence the odd photo location, but it allows for some unusual item shapes, which can be fun!)
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Cat Claws Club April 2019 Review
This subscription is pretty heavy on the toys and is often, but not always, holiday-themed. This is also one of the only cat subscriptions where you get scratch pads regularly. Let’s see what was in the box this month:
There’s usually a booklet with more information on the items. This month had a movie night theme. There was also a card asking you to share on social media.
Cat Bed – Retail Value $13.97
This was unbranded, but when I searched “polka dot cat bed” on Google, a ton of matching images came up. This is one of those things that it takes the kitties awhile to warm up to. It’s relatively small and best for a smaller cat, so I put it in a place in the master bathroom where Sneaky hangs out sometimes, and she’s been using it. Never when I have the camera nearby, of course…
Imperial Cat Catnip (1 oz) – Retail Value $3.99
We have about 12 scratch pads all over the house so this has already been put to good use, refreshing those. It seems to be good quality, judging from Monkey’s reaction!
Cat Dreams DVD – Retail Value $12.95
This is a DVD with a bunch of short clips of things that interest cats, like butterflies and birds and so forth. I actually already have this from another cat subscription box so I will pass this copy along to another cat owner. This is great for the movie night theme since it’s something that at least some cats will actually watch with interest (or, in Mr. Kitty’s case, listen to, since he is blind now).
Popcorn Pillow – Estimated Value $3.95
I couldn’t find this exact item on the Cat Claws site, but I found something very similar. Angus had more fun with this than I would’ve expected based on his usual reaction to catnip toys. Either he was in a good mood or this has some pretty strong catnip. Well, whatever works!
4 Pack Inaba Ciao Churu Tuna Puree Treats – Retail Value $3.99
I am never sad to see these in a cat subscription box because my kitties absolutely love them (this is the only brand of lickable treats Monkey will eat) and I also just get a kick out of the cats’ behavior while consuming these. You will see what I mean in some of the cat pictures below.
Gratuitous cat photos:
Angus moved into this box sometime last week and hasn’t wanted to give it up, not even for a soft cat bed. However, he is really too fat for the cat bed right now (he’s on a diet) so I’ve given it to Sneaky.
He did have an awful lot of fun playing with the popcorn pillow from inside his box, though.
Madison comes out to investigate the bed.
And he stayed for some treats.
Monkey really, really likes these, even though I give him one almost every day (they seem to help a little with hairballs).
Sneaky is only in it for the food. She shared Monkey’s downstairs and then came up and claimed some of Madison’s upstairs, too.
Mr. Kitty was willing to sit for photos in the bed, but he is a little big for it (he is almost 13 pounds at the moment). It is better suited to a cat Sneaky’s size.
Verdict: I calculated a total value of $38.85 for Cat Claws Club this month. This is about $5 above the month-to-month cost of the box plus shipping, which is pretty good for a cat subscription. I thought the movie night theme was fun and was done a little differently from other cat subscriptions (as in, it contained an actual movie for cats to watch) and I’m very happy that Sneaky is enjoying the bed. Of course, the treats were also a win. Overall, this was a good box for us.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, Cat Claws Club ships once every other month. Your first box would be June’s box if you signed up now. (But, many of the items are available for individual purchase from CatClaws.com.)
Value Breakdown: This box costs $33.90 (subscription plus shipping) so you are paying about the following for each item:
- Cat bed $12.19
- Catnip $3.48
- DVD $11.30
- Pillow $3.45
- Treats $3.48
