Now, on to the items!
KORRES Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser, 0.68 fl oz - Estimated Value $3.49 (Buy a full size 5.07 oz here for $26.00)
Korres is one of those brands I love, but I never really buy for some reason. I feel like I should really invest more of my beauty shelf space to it because I have yet to dislike a product from this brand. I am also a cleanser addict, so I was pumped to try this one. I feel like sometimes yogurt flavored or enhanced products can be really hit or miss, but this one is so creamy and smells a little sweet and a little floral. It is a stronger scent, but I love that personally. It did a fantastic job of getting off my makeup and leaving my skin feeling very smooth and soft.
Boscia Detoxifying Black Charcoal Cleanser, 1 fl oz - Estimated Value $6.00 (Buy a full size 5 oz here for $30.00)
Another cleanser! The inclusion of two within one bag might not make everyone happy, but I double cleanse anyways and I love Boscia so I am thrilled. This charcoal cleanser is very different from the yogurt one above. This is more of a true pore cleansing/detox wash than a moisturizing formula. I love the slightly masculine and majorly herbal scent and this completely wiped the makeup from my skin. If you want to try double cleansing, this month's offering is nearly perfect! Start with this charcoal formula to remove the majority of your makeup and finish with the yogurt formula above to recharge your skin's moisture barrier and give it softness. Another notable feature of this cleanser is that it is supposed to give a warming sensation, but I admittedly love a REALLY hot shower, so I didn't notice any extra warmth.
Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum, 0.33 fl oz - Estimated Value $16.17 (Buy a full size 1 oz here for $49.00)
Another brand winner for me! Looove Caudalie! This serum is lightweight and perfect for warmer months. I love to wear formulas like this under my foundation during the day, saving those heavier serums and creams for my night routine. This stuff smells heavenly, like flowers and springtime. I love this brand because the foundation of their antioxidant-rich formula is from the seeds of wine grapes. Wine anything gets me excited, smeared on my face or filling my glass! This serum is a great way to give your skin instant moisture without any heaviness or greasiness.
Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen, 0.02 oz - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $22.00
I have such mixed feelings about this product. I tend to enjoy Clinique products, though I have mainly used their skincare and lip products. Immediately when I swatched this pen, I was really surprised at how light it was. I am used to super dark black liners and this almost felt like some sort of a wash. It did go on darker on my eyelids and I was shocked at how easy it was to get a straight, solid line with this brush tip. I always seem to get the first eye perfect, then the second is a hot mess! Not so with this liner. Although it went on easy, this formula had basically no real staying power, at least not on my face.
Just not as black as so many others out there.
Girlactik Invisible Shadow Primer/Eraser Liner, 0.056 oz - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $17.00
This product seemed like a godsend for someone like me, who always gets mascara all over her eyelids. The included card states that this is the perfect product for fixing eyeliner or mascara smudges. Simply apply the clear stick over the smudge and rub it away. While I appreciate the innovative thinking, I don't think this product is better than a Q-tip with some moisturizer or water, at least on my face.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Eau So Sweet Eau de Toilette, 1.2 ml - Estimated Value $1.25 (Buy a full size 100 ml here for $104.00)
This perfume is really sweet and youthful. There is a little raspberry in the first impression, but this scent is much more floral and musky than fruity. The berries are fleeting, and then this scent turns into a petal-filled sugar fest, with notes of citrus. The base is solid warm musk, which gives this girly fragrance a little sophistication. Though I tend to lean more towards heavier scents with a little more "weird", this was a really springy scent that I would enjoy layering with heavier options.
Montblanc Men's Explorer Eau de Parfum Spray, 2 ml - Estimated Value $1.96 (Buy a full size 100 ml here for $98.00)
Oh man. This smells just like standing at the men's cologne counter at Macy's. I am way into it! It reminds me of trips to the mall with my friends in high school, and sampling cologne's we wished our boyfriends would wear. I don't want to make this scent sound immature, because it isn't at all, which is probably why none of those boys we dated back then ever wore anything similar. If my husband wore cologne I would want him to wear something like this! It has major notes of pepper, bergamot, leather, and patchouli, but it smells rather crisp, and more than a little outdoorsy.
Verdict: This month's Macy’s Beauty Box was really fun, though a few of the products weren't really my favorites. I absolutely loved both perfume samples, both face washes, and the Caudalie serum. Ironically, the two full-size products were the misses for me, which does impact the bag's worth in my eyes. Because of this, I do have 'meh' feelings about the overall value. This month's total estimated value is around $67.87, which is well worth the $15 subscription cost if you loved the eyeliner and eraser pen. If not, you still have a really cute bag, two incredible face wash samples, and an excellent serum, though significantly less value.
