My Paper Box May 2019 Review
I am loving this month’s box already! The pizza theme has me hungry, for sure!! This month’s insert is pizza themed with the 17th being the most stand-out date.
Set of 4 Notepads
The first item in my box is so sweet (and savory!) I received 4 mini notepads, each with 20 pages. They are all personalized with my name on the top in a pizza design, gummy bear design, cupcake design, and popcorn design. These are fun and adorable! These pads measured 3.5 inches by 3 inches.
Mother’s Day Card
My box included this sassy Mother’s Day card, which I absolutely adore. Honestly, it isn’t one I'd give to my mother (I’ve never claimed to be a princess), but is definitely something I would expect my daughter to get me. It is paired with a brown a-style envelope.
Gummy Bear Notepad
I love this! I use notepads so much at work and at home--they never collect dust! The two little gummies peeking around the edges is just cute. I will probably keep these at home, they are perfect for notes to the kids’ teachers! This big pad measures at 7.75 inches long and 5 inches wide and has 25 pages.
Pizza Love Card
More pizza! I am seriously craving it at this point - it's insane! This card is super busy, but is pretty cute. And if it looks like my pictures are blurry, its definitely the font on the card. It's not my favorite font, but it does go with the card. The card is paired with an envelope exploding with pizza on the front and on the envelope flap. I can honestly say I am not sure what I will do with this card--it’s a little cheeeesy for my husband (ha!) I will save it, and am sure I will find the perfect sender and recipient eventually.
Mini Pizza Birthday Card
This card makes me chuckle every time I read it. It’s a smaller card designed in slices of pizza, measuring at 3.5 inches tall and 5 inches wide, and is already personalized with a message from me. It is paired with a personalized envelope with my name, a little piece of pizza and my return address. And this is when I discovered a typo. My zip code is flip-flopped ending in 45 when it should be 54.
Mini Popcorn Birthday Card
I got another fun punned birthday card; this one with popcorn instead of pizza. Just like the pizza card, it is already personalized and is paired with an envelope that has my return address on the flap, but the zip code is wrong.
Return Address Labels
These are so cute!! I love that these were included. They are so colorful and have some sort of yummy treat on them. I do kinda wish my last name was on them, though, they seem so bare since my first name is only 5 letters long. And, of course, the zip is wrong. I know I can go back and cross this out and write over it, but it will make the label look ugly. I really don’t know if I will send them out because of that. Sigh…we shall see. I really wish that they were correct.
Gummy Bear Pencil
I am feeling some serious nostalgia here! I had pencils like this when I was a kid. The gummy bears all have a pencil point and can be re-arranged in any order I wish. They also all come apart and can be used as mini-pencils. I think this is adorable. I definitely want this to myself, so I'll have to take it to the office to keep it from my daughter. The only downfall with these is if I make a mistake, I don’t have an eraser. It's not a deal breaker, but I wanted to point out the obvious.
Calendar Stand
The final item in My Paper Box is this calendar stand. I also got one last month, so I think it is safe to say these are a monthly thing. One side is a calendar surrounded by giant gummies and the other is a bigger calendar with significant dates labeled. I like these; they can sit perfectly on my desk, and I get them right before the month starts so I can display them for an entire month!
Verdict: This box’s presentation was so awesome and so much fun from the moment I open my mailbox. I mean, it is entirely covered in pizza!! The curation of this box is one of my favorites, and it changes every month. This month’s items were fun and funny--I loved the puns on the cards. And while I loved having the return address on the envelopes and the labels, I wish it was correct. I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to details, and while this is an easy mistake to make, it is one that could have been caught if reviewed before printing (my zip was correct on the actual box mailed to me). It's not a deal breaker; I still totally love My Paper Box and am looking forward to next month’s box!! I still stand on my verdict in my last post: $28 does seem a little high, although considering all the personalization and effort put into making every box, I see where the value is. This subscription is different from others because it is 100% personalized, and I feel that is valuable.
