Oui Fresh Beauty Box is a non-toxic beauty box from the women at popular lifestyle blog, A Beautiful Mess. Each box includes 5-7 items of cruelty-free items and is $29.99/month. I was a big fan of their past subscription boxes (RIP Happy Mail) so getting to review their beauty box has been super fun! This month has a really exciting tool, so read on if you like hearing about new ways to spruce up your beauty routine!

You'll find an info card that doubles as a print and lists all of the items, plus where you can buy more of them. This month, the front has a visual guide of how to use your new gua sha massage stone!

Rose Quartz Gua Sha Massage Stone - Listed Retail Value $30.00 (via their blog)

I'm a big fan of trying out beauty products that are new to me. While this has been used for a long time in East and Southeast Asia, we westerners are mostly just getting wind of it. I received one of these stones in a different beauty box a while back and couldn't wait to try it out. I wasn't the best at it the first try, but I also saw the massage treatment as an add-on at my facialist's a couple of months ago and decided to give it a *professional* try. The technique of pushing the stone around your face in specific ways is supposed to help with lymphatic drainage and stimulate healthy blood flow. It also happens to feel really nice when lying in a spa-like environment. The rose quartz tends to stay slightly cool which is nice and just gently pushing it around (almost flat against your skin) really does help wake up your face.

Opagee Rosehip Beauty Oil Blend, 1.01 oz. - Retail Value $22.42 USD ($30 CAD)

Sadly, this product leaked in transit making a little mess of the box (as you can see in the photos). I contacted them though and they sent out a replacement, so it's nice to know that they are prepared to do so. I even still have the leaky one which didn't lose too much, but just makes a mess wherever it goes. This beauty oil blend is perfect with the gua sha stone since you'll need something to help it glide along (while also helping your skin). Alternately, you can use it with just your fingertips, sans gua sha stone and simply allow it to soak in and help plump and rejuvenate your skin.

HAN Eyeshadow in Celebrate - Retail Value $15.00

I've seen HAN in quite a few natural beauty boxes, usually in the form of eyeshadows like this. Celebrate is a soft champagne color that falls perfectly into my realm of makeup comfort. I tend to go for neutrals or pinks for the eye and this touch of sparkle brings a little pop without going overboard. You can barely see it in the swatch photo above but you get that hint of glitz.

Aisling Organics Dual-Ended Eyeshadow Brush - Retail Value $18.00

This synthetic-bristled eye shadow brush does double duty with one fluffy end and one flat, dense end. I'll probably end up using the fluffy end more since I like to blend the night away, but the flat end is good for getting into that lid crease if the fluffy one is too much. Great to pack into a makeup case on the go since you get two tools while using the space of just one.

Evolvh Smart Start Leave-In Conditioner back of Evolvh Smart Start Leave-In Conditioner Evolvh Smart Start Leave-In Conditioner with cap off

Evolvh Smart Start Leave-In Conditioner, 2 oz. - Retail Value $11.00

First off, this leave-in conditioner has a wonderful soft spritz that doesn't shoot a stream of product right into my head. It's easy to not overuse as well, which is nice. I spritz this all over my towel dried damp hair and let it sit for about 15 minutes before giving it a quick blow dry. It didn't do too much for calming my split ends (nothing can, really) but I did notice that my hair was a heck of a lit shiner. Smells really nice too!

Verdict: This month's Oui Fresh Beauty Box was exciting for me mainly because of the gua sha stone. Yes, I have one, but I am a greedy brat and now I have two. I do have quite a few oils already, but the rosehip blend is really hydrating so it's a nice addition. It was cool that they included a brush to go with the eyeshadow which happens to be a great color for me and the leave-in conditioner may just help my hair to be shinier! The total retail value of this $36.99 box ended up being a $96.42!

If anyone’s interested in gua sha but isn’t getting the stone tool in a sub box I recommend going to a local Chinese or Asian store and buying it from there! Please help support the smaller businesses instead of big (non-ethnic, non-local) ones!
