April 2019 Pet Treater Dog Pack Review
The latest delivery from Mini Monthly Box for dogs included 3 items and two promotional cards:
The first promotional card is for the movie A Dog’s Way Home. We are offered a discounted price for this movie on FandangoNow with an included coupon code. This movie is from the beloved best-selling author of A Dog’s Purpose. It looks really cute and is PG, so my kids and I might just have to watch it!
The front of the next card features this adorable pup with a bouquet of tulips for the dog mom in your life.
On the other side of the card, there is a photo of “Harbor” next to his Pet Treater box. You can email a photo to [email protected] for a chance to win a free item in your next box!
afp Flexy Squeak Chicken
The first and biggest item in this box is a flexy squeak chicken made by All For Paws a.k.a. afp. This toy is about 18 inches tall and has a very large squeaker inside. I am a little confused as to why the packaging states it is stretchy because after 5 minutes of pulling on this chicken I found nothing able to be stretched. Even without the stretching, my pups loved playing with this. I was a little disappointed to not be able to find it for sale on any websites so I’m not sure what the retail value is, but with my supervision, my dogs did enjoy this.
Sloth and Rainbow Flannel Bandana
The next item in the bag is a large turquoise bandana printed with sloths and rainbows. This item was definitely the least impressive in this bag. First of all, it is a cut piece of flannel with no finished edges, and some of the cuts aren’t even straight. I feel like this should have been a bonus item, not a main item in the box. I do kind of want to know where they bought this fabric though - I would love to make a baby blanket out of it!
Best Buddy Bones Beef and Liver Flavor 5.5 oz - Retail Value $5.79 (found here for $4.41)
The last item in this month’s bag is a good size bag of treats. These small bones are made in the USA and the ingredients include wheat flour, vegetable fat, sugar, salt, caramel color, garlic powder, natural butter flavor, natural beef flavor, and natural liver flavor. Both of my dogs enjoyed these and will do basically anything to get their “paws” on one.
Verdict: This was my second month reviewing this subscription, and my dogs are definitely fans! Both of my dogs loved the treats and the chicken toy, but the bandana was a definite miss for us. I would have felt a lot better if they included something else to make the bag feel like a better deal. Hopefully, they will step it up next month!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Items vary from shipment to shipment, so you’re not guaranteed the same items as seen here. Standard orders generally ship around the 10th of each month. If you've added special requests to your order (allergies, no plush, tough toys, etc.), this may add additional processing and packing times due to the extra labor involved.
Value Breakdown: This month I received 3 items. The subscription costs $15 a month. Because I could only find one retail price if you divide the 3 items by the cost of the box you are paying about $5 an item. While I feel that is fair for the treats and the toy, I definitely wouldn’t pay that for the bandana.
